Natasha Romanoff, aka the Black Widow, was a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, tasked with protecting the world from terrorist threats from all over. But that all changed with the rise of HYDRA.
Turns out, S.H.I.E.L.D. had been a mere cover front set up by HYDRA after World War II. After gaining Tony Stark’s Arc Reactor technology to incorporate into their newest Helicarriers, HYDRA had launched their Project Insight plan, demolishing S.H.I.E.L.D. and their latest plans to take over the world. Widow, Captain America, and Falcon tried to take down HYDRA before their ultimate plans launched, but their attack failed. Steve Rodgers and Sam Wilson were killed in the attack, while Natasha herself was eventually overwhelmed and captured. With no one left on site to help, HYDRA’s plan went through without a hitch.
HYDRA had successfully taken over the world.
After establishing their dominion, it was time to take care of their prisoner. Black Widow had spent the past few weeks in a cell heavily tied with rope. Normally, she could escape from any rope or handcuff, but these ropes were not only tied tighter than normal, but they had used a LOT of rope. There was simply no pull with the cords, so she was unable to escape.
