Peter sighed and looked down in his coffee cup. He should be at his college graduation right now, not having coffee at some overpriced coffee shop. He was happy at least to have graduated, he hoped to get a better job, money was always tight. In the past couple years he had emancipated himself from everyone. Only keeping in contact as an ally with The Avengers, The X-Men and a handful of other super heroes. Daredevil had even accepted that he was old and experienced enough to take on villains.
No friends or family to worry about getting hurt or taken as hostages. But, it was lonely.
On the bright side, it was a lovely warm summer morning and he had the day off at The Daily Bugle.
Just him and his over priced coffee, sitting at a small table outside. The barista keeping his cup full. Nothing to worry about.
The vacant chair across from him at his table was pulled out and he looked up and frowned. The culprit was a tall man with a black hoodie on, his face was nearly completely covered.
He sat down and even though Peter couldn’t really see his face, he could feel him smirking at him.
His voice was deep and smooth, “Hey, Pete. Why do you look so down?”
If there was one voice he would never forget, it was Wade Wilson. AKA Deadpool. AKA The Merc with a Mouth. Peter was furious, “Wade, how many times do I need to tell you to stay away from this city?”
“Hey, I don’t have nothing going on, I am on vacation, just an everyday tourist. I have been saving the galaxy. I am almost as heroic as you now, ya know.” Wade tilted his head up a little, smile evident, his scars showing on his jaw line.
“This is not the day for this, I swear I will beat you down and drag you back to prison.” Peter nearly spat.
“Please, sweetheart, there isn’t one prison that can contain me. You know that. Now, come on, tell your boy what the trouble is.”
Peter sighed and shook his head, “You aren’t going to leave, are you?”
“Do I like monkeys?”
“Fine. I am just having a pity party, and its supposed to be a pity party for one by the way. Today is my college graduation.”
“Sounds like a good day, my man.”
“No, you don’t get it. It has been awhile since we have run into each other, since that time I have broken all ties to my friends, family and loved ones. I couldn’t put them in danger anymore. I can’t share this day with anyone I used to care about.” Peter took a drink from his now lukewarm coffee.
“What about me? I’m here today.” Wade’s mostly hidden face was obviously grinning.
“You? I don’t care about you.”
Wade put a hand to his heart, feigning pain. “You sure know how to hurt me, after all we have been through.”
Peter stood up, “I just don’t have the energy for this today. Maybe tomorrow, or better yet next millennium.”
Wade stood up next to Peter, nearly a whole head taller than Peter, “You will miss me later.”
Peter was about ready to retort some half thought out insult, but before his lips could form the words, Wade’s lips captured his and his fingers were tangled into Peter’s hair. Peter could feel the scarred lips move against his. As quick as it happened, Wade pulled away and walked off as if nothing happened.
Peter stared at Wade as he walked away, dumbfounded. He stared for awhile, even after he was no longer in sight. He looked to his side and an older couple was scowling at him. He realized he was blushing, so he quickly threw some money on the table and left for home.
***
By the time Peter got home he was beyond furious. What the hell was that ass trying to do? He shook it off the best he could.
This was his day. His day to relax and personally celebrate a HUGE milestone in his life. Sure, school was easy for him. But, he put the effort and debt into completing college. More than that jackass could say.
Why was he even still thinking about him? Wade was worthless. And aggressive. Peter tried the best he could. But, his mind kept returning to the kiss Wade stole from him.

Wade rolled his eyes at the waiter in front of him and pulled out his wallet, placing a healthy pile of money on the table. “Of course I have enough money for a bottle of tequila and five chimichangas.”
The waiter’s disposition turned cheerful and he left to fulfill the order.
Sure the alcohol didn’t affect him like a normal man, with his healing abilities, his metabolism was high. But, if he gulped it down fast enough he could get a bit buzzed and drunk.
:I bet Petey boy is wishing he took you back to his place…:
:Nah, that is what Wade wishes.:
‘Oh, shut up.’ Wade thought to the voices in his head. He knew the second voice was right. He was drawn to Spidey. He hadn’t meant to kiss him, his impulses just drove him to. He laughed at himself, his impulses caused everything in his life. Then again, if he wasn’t so impulsive he would have been killed by his cancer if he hadn’t volunteered to be a guinea pig.
The bottle of liquor and a shot glass was finally set down in front of him.
“I don’t need the shot glass, chump.”
The high class waiter wrinkled his nose at Wade, used to a higher class of cliental. He watched as Wade chugged down the liquor.
Wade chuckled to himself as the waiter shook his head and left.
:Well, that tasted like donkey piss.:
:How do you know what donkey piss tastes like?:
:Hey, I’m just saying it was horrible.:
:Nah, it wasn’t that bad, we have had worse.:
Wade looked at the half empty bottle and smiled, oh, he was feeling good now.
Life was going to get boring if he didn’t find something to occupy his time with. He had no missions or jobs. Maybe he could convince Peter to let him build him that Spidey-Cave. Nah, he never would, but it could be fun trying.
Or maybe he could fight crime and get Peter’s attention. That sounded like a good… Oh, CHIMICHANGAS! Three huge plates of food were set down in front of him.
He ate the food with the table manners of a cave man, barely able to finish the last couple bites since he was so stuffed.
:Oh, that was awesome!:
:That was too much.:
Yeah, next time he was going to order four. He looked at the mostly finished bottle of liquor, then finished it and got up to leave.
Wow, the room looked like a living lava lamp.
“Sir, should I call you a cab?” The concerned waiter asked.
“Nah…I think I’ll walk it off,” Wade slurred.
Wade walked down the street bumping into a few irritated people. By the time he got to the condo he was renting, he was mostly sober.
He went to his California King sized bed and fell asleep almost immediately.

A few days passed and Peter had finally shook off the funk he had been in. Work had picked up and any free time he had, after being Spider-Man, was spent job hunting and filling out applications.
He briefly wondered what had happened to Wade. Then again, the transient may have found something else to occupy his time. Which would be good, since chaos tended to follow Wade.
He started to get irritated, thinking about Wade’s dumb stunt. He was going to have to remember to clock Wade a good one the next time he seen him.
The sun was nearly set, so he decided to suit up and patrol the busy city.
The first hour passed with out much happening. He watched as a couple argued, wondering if it was going to get physical, but they eventually calmed down and walked their separate ways.
Shortly after, he had just landed on a fire escape as a man ran down an ally, two others pursued him.
One of the pursuers screamed, “You better pay up!”
Peter jumped down in time to see Deadpool sprint past him.
“Hey!” Wade waved and winked at Peter.
Peter stopped short, then chased after Wade. He watched as Wade knocked both men to the ground and punched the back of their heads, both men going unconscious.
“Seriously, what the hell?”
Wade turned around, “It is so nice to see you again, too.”
Peter became angry as he could make out the grin on Wade’s face through the thin red and black material. “Whatever you are up to, knock it off.”
Wade shrugged, “Just trying to help you out, pal. I have so much time on my hands. And you are so busy. The least I could do is help you.”
“I don’t need any help from you.”
“Come on Batman, let me be your Robin. We could have our own Spidey-cave and I’d be all ‘Nanananananananah, Spider-Man!’”
Peter sighed, “Will you ever give that a rest?”
Wade threw his arm around Peter’s shoulder and looked down at him, “No.”
Peter felt uncomfortable with Wade so close and touching him. “Wade, let go.”
“Why? You didn’t complain last time.”
Peter was glad his mask was on because his face was burning red from embarrassment and anger, he tried to pull away. But, Wade just tightened his grip and backed him against the wall. “Wade!”
“Yeah…” Wade’s voice was low and seductive.
Peter’s first reaction was to beat Wade into a bloody pulp for his recent behavior, but a very small part of him wanted to know what he was up to. Peter looked down at the ground and in a very small voice said, “Why are you doing these things?”
Wade cocked his head to the side and thought about that, “I tend to do whatever I fancy, you know that.”
Peter swallowed hard, he was so exhausted mentally from life, he didn’t want to play these games. “Wade, I don’t need you messing with me right now. I know this is some sort of game to you. My life isn’t super awesome if you haven’t figured that out. Just quit.” Peter looked down and trembled slightly, he was not going to have a breakdown in front of Wade.” Peter stiffened when Wade embraced him, but it was a soft embrace.
“This was never a game.”
Peter relaxed a bit and rested his cheek against Wade’s chest, then found himself wrapping his arms around Wade’s waist. A few minutes passed and Peter pulled away from Wade, this time without resistance.
Wade looked at Peter, not sure what to say. Before he could think of anything, Peter shot a rope of webbing out and swung onto a rooftop and quickly went out of site.
:That went better than I thought it would.:
:Congrats, you hit first base.:
:I wouldn’t call that first base yet.:

Peter plopped down on his couch and cursed himself for his little bonding moment with Wade. Just what Wade needed, encouragement to keep chasing after him.
***
The next couple weeks passed fairly uneventful for Peter. He kept all his thoughts about Wade buried.
He was filling out an application when his cell phone rang. He hit the answer button, “Yes?”
“Peter, Nick Fury, we have a slight situation.”
“What?” Peter asked.
“The Symbiote got loose.”
“Venom? Aren’t you tracking him?”
Fury sighed, “The parasite is off our radar at the moment. Just giving you a heads up, since he is so fond of you.”
“Great.”
“Contact me if you find him.”
“Of course.” Peter hung up and shook his head. Just what he needed to deal with.
Peter once again slipped into his red and blue outfit and hit the streets. He swung and jumped from roof to roof, surveying the city.
A couple buildings away, he spotted the familiar figure of Deadpool sitting on the edge of a roof watching the street beneath him. He almost took off the other direction, but figured he should warn Wade.
He swung over to the roof top and walked over to Wade.
Wade got up and turned around, “Been awhile, Spidey.”
Peter cut him off before Wade got going on some sort of rant, “This is a business trip for me out here. SHIELD has managed to lose the Venom Symbiote.”
“Well, its not with me, see? No creepy fanged up Joker smiley on my mug. Besides Symbiotes don’t bond well with me.”
“I know, Wade. Just letting you know that the fun will be starting soon.” Peter said and turned to leave.
“Wait! So, does that mean we could team up?”
“What? No way!”
“No, think about it! I am the perfect man for this mission. Sure, I could be put out of commission, but he won’t be able to actually kill me. You won’t even have to worry about me.”
Peter groaned, “You’d just get in my way.”
Wade got on his knees and folded his hands, “Please! I promise to be a good servant and not get in your way!”
“Get up! Will you keep your hands to yourself?”
Wade stood up, “If I do, can we team up?”
“Yes, but I mean it.”
“YES!!! Lets meet here at dusk every night then.”
“Fine.”
“This is going to be awesome!”
“Come on, Robin.”
Wade beamed and nearly skipped as he caught up with Peter.

The next four night passed fairly uneventful. The fifth night they met as usual, patrolling their usual route.
“Come on, Spidey. You should really come with me out to eat. They have great chimichangas and tacos.”
“Wade, we are working as partners. Not dating.”
“I am not asking you out on a date, just lunch.” Though Wade grinned at the idea of taking Peter out on a date.
:He totally wouldn’t like your table manners.:
:Yeah, he would run off screaming:
“Even IF I wanted to, I can’t. I have to work. With working, patrolling and filling out applications, I don’t even have enough time to sleep half what a normal person does.”
Wade frowned at that thought. He didn’t like that at all. He hadn’t really thought about what Peter did when they weren’t patrolling. All he did was eat and sleep for the most part. “Could you take a vacation, so you didn’t have to work?”
Peter laughed, “You really don’t live in the real world, do you? I need to work, I need the money to survive.”
Wade’s frown deepened. How was it that one of the world’s greatest super heroes was broke, yet he was extremely wealthy. And he didn’t even qualify as a hero. “You know I could give you the money so you could take a couple weeks off.”
“Yeah, but then I’d have to go out to eat with you.”
“Would it be such a bad trade?”
Peter laughed again and shoved Wade.
“Oh? So, I can’t touch you, but you can touch me?”
“Oops! I’ll keep my hands to myself from now on.”
“No, that’s not what I mean. Keep it up. Anytime.”
“Wade, it would never work out between us.”
“Why?”
“I don’t need to worry about anyone. Its why I am alone now.”
“I have said it before, you wouldn’t need to worry about me. I have been shot in the head, the heart, hell, I have even been decapitated. I am ugly as sin, but I am damn durable.”
“Wade…”
“Kiss me once then think about it. Take as much time as you need.”
“You have already kissed me.”
“But, you haven’t kissed me.”
Peter stared at Wade for a long while. He tried to remember why he wanted to be alone, why he should run away right now, why he shouldn’t feel anything for Wade. But, he couldn’t form any answers. His hands trembled slightly as pulled his mask up so it rested just below his eyes. He watched as Wade did the same. Peter moved closer to Wade, reaching out, he ran a gloved finger along Wade’s jaw line. He traced the scars on the exposed flesh.
“Do I disgust you?”
Peter shook his head.
