Loki rubbed his temples. His life had spun out of control. Now he was stuck in Stark Tower, watched constantly like a prisoner by The Avengers. Why did he have to constantly be the failure in life? He wanted to scream. He growled to himself.
A rough knock sounded at his door. He knew who it was, he sure as hell wasn’t going to answer considering his door wasn’t allowed to lock so the asshole was just going to come in anyways. Thor barged in grinning from ear to ear, “Good day, brother!” he beamed from ear to ear. Loki sneered and looked away. His brother bothered him perpetually, trying to change him into one of the good guys. ‘Aye, I see you are happy as ever, dear brother. Let us go to the training chamber and bond as brothers do.” “Thor, I am not in the mood. Nor do I wish to be humiliated.” “Come now, we shall have a great time. I learned of this thing called “ordering” and received two beautiful swords. I only wish to test them out, not a fight to the death.” Loki sighed. “Will you leave me be for the rest of the day if I do?” “I so promise.” Thor smiled. “Fine, brother. I shall be there shortly.” Thor nearly skipped out of his room. Loki looked at his clothes, he hated these mortal garments. Jeans. He looked through the vast clothes that hung in his closet. He would never understand them and their lust for countless clothes. He kept on his shirt and changed his jeans for soft cotton Nike shorts. At least he was more comfortable now. He walked down the hall to the elevator, proud that he had mastered it with little assistance. He reached the floor with the training facility, which was almost only training facility. The huge room was nearly indestructible, even The Hulk could be contained here. His brother was still beaming from ear to ear like the fool he was. His brother tossed one of his new toys to him. Loki felt the weight of the weapon. He had fought with better weapons for sure, but this would do. The sparred for the better part of an hour. Thor being stronger, while Loki was quicker. Loki had to admit that sparring took his mind of things and helped him relax. The room’s doors opened and in came the world’s most arrogant man, The Man of Iron. Loki looked over at him, irritated by the extra company. Suited up as Iron Man, Tony waved, “Hey don’t mind me, I’m just testing out some new improvements to my suit.” “Fare thee well in your research,” Thor smiled. Loki rolled his eyes. Thor and he continued their sparring. Swinging the metal, dodging and so forth. Iron Man sent himself into the wall, which momentarily caught Loki’s attention, distracting him. By the time he turned his head back, Thor’s blade was sinking into his shoulder. Loki refused to cry out, only growling in pain. “I think this is the end of our sparring” Loki grimaced, holding his shoulder. “I am truly sorry” Thor said. “It is no issue, let me rest” Loki walked away. As Loki was about to get in the elevator, Tony ran up to him, visor open. “Would you mind me treating your wounds?” “I need no help from you, I will heal.” “I know you will, that is why I would like to treat them and document them. I would like to understand your kind more.” Loki looked back at his brother, and back again at Tony. “How long would this require of me?” Tony could see the animosity between the brothers, realizing Loki wanted space from his brother. “At least a week, maybe longer. It would require very little from y…” Loki raised his hand, “I consent.” Tony looked at Thor, “Loki will stay in my lab while I observe him, let me know if you need to visit him.” Thor nodded and watched him take off in the elevator. Loki enjoyed Tony’s lab. The strange scents, the colors, textures. Loki sat in the best chair he could find. “That’s my chair,” Tony stated. “While I’m here, its mine,” Loki grinned. Tony rolled his eyes at the Trickster God and pulled out a medical supply pack. “Remove your shirt.” Tony couldn’t believe how deep the wound was. No ordinary man would be sitting calmly. “I’m going to need to stitch you up inside your shoulder and outside.” Loki shrugged and the wound gapped a bit. Tony laid all the supplies out neatly on a tray. He worked silently, lacing the thread through the broken flesh. Loki didn’t wince once. Tony looked at the wound, proud, because he knew no other person could have done a better job. He took some warm wet rags and cleaned the blood off Loki’s shoulder and chest. Tony looked up, the God was now staring at him, inches from his face. “Thank you” Loki whispered in a husky voice that Tony wasn’t used to. Tony nodded, cheeks blushing. What the hell was wrong with him? He turned away and gathered himself. He grabbed his favorite bottle of whisky and took a long drink from it. Gathering his camera and some vials he returned to Loki. He photographed and dated the images. Then took some vials of blood, his temperature, blood pressure and other vitals. Loki spent the next couple hours observing the genius. He was interesting to watch. He worked tirelessly, intent on his goals, whatever they may be. Tony looked up, almost as if he just remembered Loki was sitting patiently. “You know you are free to move about.” “I know.” “Oh, ok.” Tony said awkwardly. “Why are you doing this?” Loki asked. “To understand you be…” “No, I mean, you could have done this, sent me on my merry way and checked on me from time to time. Why didn’t you?” “Um…well you looked like you needed some space from brother dearest. Actually the past month you have looked like you have been smothered by him.” “You take pity on me?” Loki raised an eyebrow in question. “Ah no no no, its not like that,” Tony said defensively. Loki threw his head back and laughed. “I take no offense. I find it amusing you would pay notice to us.” Loki smiled. Tony smiled back, “I knew I’d end up liking you, Loks” he winked. Loki wrinkled his nose at his new nick name. Toni offered his favorite bottle of whisky to Loki. Loki frowned. “Oh come now, Sandra Dee.” “Fine.” They spent the remainder of the evening passing the liquor back and forth, talking. Loki was amazed how easy it was to talk to Tony. Eventually Tony kind of fell asleep in the middle of talking. Loki chuckled and picked the drunk man up laid him on the futon in his lab. He sat next to him and pulled a blanket over Tony. He brushed a stray hair back in place. He turned and went back to his chair and watched the genius sleep his liquor off. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
