Author Notes: I, like many others, sensed a strong romantic vibe from Erik and Charles. And that vibe only intensified until the very end of movie. I couldn't get those two out of my head. Trust Me- The Fray

Erik returned to his chambers after a long day of training with the ‘Professor’. Erik laughed at the title, he couldn’t possibly think of Charles to such a high decree. To Erik, he was only kind - but persistent, Charles Xavier. Charles. The man he was quite infatuated with. The man who he spent every waking minute with during the past month or so. Today’s session was different than the others. He let Charles inside of his head and saw what was very well the most intimate, humane memory Erik held. And once he was done viewing it all he did was shed a tear and thanked him for letting him share such a thing. It was a simple memory. An ordinary Hanukkah celebration shared with his mother and their closest relatives. No one else would have found the importance in it but Charles. Charles felt his compassion and cared for him like no one else had ever before.
These thoughts carried Erik all the way to his room. After absentmindedly dismissing Raven from his bed, he plopped down on it. She was a very beautiful girl, yes. But he felt absolutely nothing when he kissed her. He cared for her though and knew she needed the confidence boost.
He slipped off his boots and lay his head on the pillow. Closing his eyes, Xavier instantly popped in his mind. His vibrant blue eyes and soft spoken accent that always spoke reason to Erik -or at least tried to. He never did thank him for saving his life that night. When Xavier rushed into the roaring rapids and wrapped his lean arms around him and filled voices of reason in his head. Twice he risked his life to save a young man he barely knew. Then again he knows all he needs to just by simply slipping deep into his thoughts.
Erik thought once more about Xavier’s arms. And the torso that was connected to it, followed by strong legs that carried him across his courtyard. Many days Erik would watch Charles running with Hank outside. He was nothing compared to Hank’s athletic capabilities, but still very impressive. So impressive in fact that for the past couple of weeks Erik would get up early enough just to catch a glimpse of his blurred body moving across the quad. Erik tried his best to have temperance, and to not watch Charles the way he was, but atlas, the boy had never been too great at controlling his feelings. He had done his very best to mask his secret desires, but nights like these, were he was so, so lonely, it was hard not to think about such a handsome man.
Slowly, his powers unzipped the fly of his trousers. Without thinking, he pushed the hem of his briefs down. He trailed the tips of his fingers across his skin, imagining it belonging to Xavier’s instead. Licking over his lips, he bit back a gasp as his thumb grazed a sensitive area.
A knock on the door disrupted his thoughts and actions. “Go away.” Erik demanded. If it was Raven again, he wouldn’t be so gentle with her this time.
“It’s me,” said a familiar voice, “Charles.”
Erik sat up instantly. He ran a hand through his hair and tried to regain his composure. “What do you want?” he hoped the unsteadiness of his voice wouldn’t be detected.
“I need to talk to you. It’s urgent.”
Erik sighed as he pulled his briefs back up. He took a series of deep breaths -just as Charles taught him to do in order to calm his mind, and unlocked the door with his power. “It’s open.”

The door was pushed open with great hesitant and slowness and in popped Charles’s head. “I hope I’m not disturbing you too badly. Are you decent?”

Erik’s face heated. He looked away, pretending to be preoccupied with the coin on his desk. “What do you want, Charles? Having more late night ideas?”
“Well, yes,” Charles advanced in his room. “I was wondering if I could go over some strategies with you.” He looked around the large corridor and seemed to be lost in thought. “This used to be one of my old rooms.
“One of them?” questioned Erik. “How many did you have?”
“Oh, quite a few.” laughed Charles. he paced around the room, his foot steps groaning underneath the hardwood floor. “I was a curious kid, you see. So I made it my goal to try out every room in this house.”
Erik studied him closely, “Did Raven sleep with you?”
“No, no, she kept to her own room.”
He relaxed from his response and lifted the coin higher in the air. He wasn’t too sure what Charles was playing at, but he was to keep his mind clear from thoughts of him. And practicing ‘controlling’ his power is what helped best.
“I remember this room.” The professor said after a moment of silence, “I frequented it a lot. I do hope the mattress is to your liking.” Charles smiled down at him.
“It’s better than the ones at motels.”
“I would hope so.” Charles laughed again. Resting a hand on the side of the bed, he added, “Mind if I sit?”
Erik shook his head no, “It’s your room after all.”
Charles climbed carefully on the bed. He folded one knee under his leg. The muscles of his arms tensed as he settled; Erik couldn’t help but watch. Charles glanced at him once he was seated. He gave him a look, one Erik couldn’t quite pin point “So what strategies did you want to go over?”
“Well, really I wanted to pick your brain about Shaw.”
The coin instantly whizzed around the room at the sheer mention of the man’s name.“What about him?”
Charles took notice of the coin. He bit his lip for moment and fell into thought again.
“Xavier.” Erik called out after a couple seconds of silence from him.
“I do understand you intense hatred toward him, Erik.” He said finally.
The boy dropped the coin in his hand and balled his fist. “Do you?”
“I couldn’t imagine having to have gone through that. Seeing my mother-”
“Don’t.” Erik began to tense up. “Let’s not go there.”
“I’m sorry.” Charles sat back, “I suppose it doesn’t get easier with age.”
“No.” Erik responded. He automatically ran his fingers over the numbers branded on his skin, “It doesn’t.”
Charles reached a hand out and gently touched his arm. The feel of his fingers calmed his senses instantly. In fact, it replaced his previous feelings with an extremely different emotion. “I am sorry.” he whispered.
Erik shook his head. “If there were anyone I would talk to about it, it would be you.”
“You can tell me anything.” smiled Charles as he gave his arm a gentle squeeze, “You know that, right?”
“Yes.” Erik replied. They locked eyes for a moment. Charles’s intruding blues staring into Erik’s. He couldn’t look away nor could he stop the thoughts from swarming in his head. His strong desire of Xavier's touch was undeniable. And now more than ever, now that he was so close, he wanted him even more. In seconds, he knew that Charles knew it all. He read him like a book and now all he wondered was why Charles wasn’t running away from him in disgust. Ah, right, because he was too much of a gentleman. Finally their gaze broke. He noticed then that his fly was still down. Xavier stilled his movement. He must have noticed it too. Erik tried to pull away in embarrassment, but Xavier’s hand lingered.
“Charles, is that the real reason you’re here, to talk about Shaw?”
The professor stared at him shyly. They locked eyes for what seemed like forever. “No.” he said finally.
He noticed something in Charles’s eyes now. Curiosity? Whatever it was, it was intense enough to make the young man inch close and brush his soft lips against his. Instantly Erik responded by filling any gaps between their lips that the professor might have left open. He closed his eyes and stayed very, very still.
Charles was the first to break the kiss. He pulled back and stared at him with his head tilted to his side.
“How long have you known?”, whispered Erik.

“Yes, I’m well aware of the depth of your feelings” Charles said, “I was saying that for your benefit.”
“Xavier, stay out of my head.” He glared.
“I can’t help it. You’re thinking awfully loud tonight.”
“Is that what brought you down here?”
“Well, yes, and no.”
Erik watched him, as he waited for a further explanation.
“After today’s lesson, I couldn’t stay away.” he admitted, “I was pacing the corridor, mustering up the courage to tell you the way I felt since you obviously weren’t going to do it. And that’s when I, erm, heard you.”
Erik braced himself. “What did you hear exactly?”
