The taxi rumbled g thg the empty highway as its passenger lit up the night's fourth cigarette. It had been a long ride, and she owed the driver a lot of money, but it was more than worth it. In a short while she'd be reuniting with her childhood best friend and maybe, just maybe, the one she would spend the rest of her life with. She smiled and exhaled a cloud of smoke, fogging her vision and making her eyes water. Finally, her life was getting back on track....maybe.
