Rhaimy wasn't looking forward to today. It was the first day of resumed training with Professor Ceti. There had been an incident their last session, and Professor Ceti had simply vanished that night. Her return was just as sudden, and everyone was wary around her, the yard still bearing the scars of her episode. Perhaps she was ashamed, or busy, but hardly anyone had seen her since she returned. Rhaimy was sitting under a tree in the Mansions expansive yard, hugging his leg and propping a book up against them, eyes scanning over the text, trying to memorize it. Professor Xanatos was having them all read up on some complicated sciences, or at least they felt that way to him. He understood why the students with more destructive powers would need to understand the dangers of combustion and other things involved in violent chain reactions, but he wasn't exactly capable of much havoc. As he read, he became aware of something in the corner of his eye, just above him. He tilted his head up and pushed away from the tree with a little squeal, falling into several copies. On the bough of the tree was Ian, upside down, having crawled down to suspend over him like some sort of lizard. His eyes white and fangs showing through a malicious grin, his shoulders and limbs showing lumps at odd angles, his bones and joints all shifted. His wild ginger hair was hanging down like some sort of red bush, black claws dug into the bark, inch long black barbs showing through his shoulders and back, elbows, knees and his heels. He was twisted in a way that just wasn't possible for a normal human. The ways he could bend would be crippling, or even fatal. He laughed, voice deeper then usual. He knew that Rhaimy was still frightened of his Mutant transformation, and when he changed his mental state shifted as well, so he was more prone to teasing or scaring him. He dropped off of the tree, landing on his hands and becoming flat, limbs bent at bone crunching angles. "Ian!" He yelped, all his hairs standing up on his arms, blushing. "You know you can't sneak up on me like that..." Laughing his deep, devilish voice, he skittered past him like a spider, coming around behind him to pin his arms down. "And what are you guna do about it wimp?" Smirking, he let him struggle a moment before letting him go and rising, body shuddering and giving a sickening lurch as the joints realigned, arms and legs shortening, knuckles and elbows cracking. His claws and barbs remained, but withdrew slightly. For some reason, when he was in this form, he found it hard to keep his hands off of Rhaimy. Something deep and instinctual told him to grab him, to pin him, and strangely, to bite him or claw him if he resisted. It had never been a problem before, though. He had enough control not to act on his... desire. "Ian sweety, be nice to Rhaimy" Elise put a hand on his shoulder, brushing past and helping the ruby tinted boy up to his feet. "I swear, I'm surrounded by children" Giggling, she brushed him off and pecked his cheek. This was another thing that had simply came and gone unnoticed, like the declaration of their relationship. By the time he had mulled over it, it had already felt natural. Still, he always blushed when she kissed him. It was a good thing Elise was between him and Ian, since he wouldn't see the moment of hurt that played on his face. Seeing Elise be friendly with Rhaimy always made Ian's claws come out. Or want to curl up in a hole. "Hardlight, Wolf Spider!" Professor Ceti called as she strode over to them. Her crust looked different now. There was still a metallic quality to it, but it resembled a shell more now, thick and with a bronze sheen to it, green and brown in the light. Its primary colour was lighter now, less reflective, but it still looked strong, and moved much like it used to. It was Professor Ceti's policy to refer to her students by their code names while in class. This was a continued source of annoyance for Rhaimy, since he was still just Rhaimy. She crossed her coated arms, looking them over, lingering a while on Elise before nodding, seemingly satisfied with what she saw. "Its good to see you well Hardlight... I trust your powers have returned in full?" "Erm, yes Teach... I mean, Professor Ceti. Are you okay?" Giving an uncharacteristic smirk, she flicked one long claw against her shoulder plating. "It's a down grade, but there'll be no more problems, that I can promise. Rhaimy... no name yet? Hardlight, you two are practically married at this point, I want him named by the end of today, and I don't care who chooses. Now go get warmed up" It felt good to slide back into her commanding ways, but her stern voice was quickly offset by her next action. Pulling a Frisbee from under one of her plates, she tossed it out into the yard. Professor Ceti permitting fun? Surely hell had dropped in degrees. And then, the ground shook. A loud crash came from the front of the Institute, followed a second later by the front gate slamming into the yard a twisted heap of scrap metal. As it came to a stop, Satyr looked her class over. "Let me guess... Teagan's recovered?" In the opening room of the Institute, several students were watching curiously from behind the Professor's. Arachnid had extended one arm and split it in two to usher them back, while Turbine primed his arms, vibrating powerfully. The crashing sounds of tearing metal came closer, and then Puzzle was sent barreling through the wooden front doors, splintering them easily. He crashed and bounced, hitting the stairs, the hard shell he had constructed over himself cracked and coming apart. In the doorway stood Teagan Biege, her body encased in a thick shell of thrumming purple energy, her fists clenched, eyes blazing infernos. "Where... are... they..." She growled, eyes boring into Turbine, and then Arachnid. Satyr pushed through the crowd, stepping down the stairs and over the reeling Puzzle. Her tail reached back to push Elise, keeping her from following. "Miss Biege, I presume" She said simply, walking without a trace of fear or concern right up to Teagan. The girl was tall, but still Satyr towered over her. "Theres the bitch" She snarled as she saw Elise, moving to shoulder past Satyr, but her three clawed hand blocked her path and shoved her back. "You have a problem with some of my students... you can take it up with me" For a while the two glared at each other, the students and Professors on edge, the memory of last weeks incident still fresh in their minds. Satyr knew what they were thinking, and she didn't blame them. Her armored crust began to form as she spoke, enclosing her body gradually, face covered by a metal visor. "So would you like to talk to me, or should I show you through the door you just broke?" Teagan glared at her, and then her usual sick, twisted smirk came back, cracking her knuckles. "Anything between me and them is fair game... and your in my way" She swung, her fist whistling tinnily. Satyr leaned back, casually, as if she were doing nothing more then letting someone pass by her. The second punch almost grazed her shoulder as she easily weaved to the side. She moved like liquid, legs bending, tail swishing out behind her as her balance shifted. With each missed swing, Barrage was becoming more and more enraged, growling and throwing out a sharp kick to the hip level. Satyr simply backstepped, easily avoiding it, Barrage spinning on her heel with the momentum. Now furious, she jumped at Satyr, snapping her leg out, followed by a heel, both of them passing through air as Satyr ducked and weaved out of the way. Barrage landed with her back to her. Roaring, she turned, putting all of her strength into one straight punch. This time, Satyr did not dodge. She slammed her forehead into her fist. There was a loud bang, like someone had swung a sledge hammer at the side of a car. Barrage's fist had made a dent in Satyr's face plate, pushing her back a few inches, but her footing held firm, forehead stopping her fist like a dam wall against a throttling bullet train. Neither moved, Satyr still and cold, Barrage panting, teeth gritted. Everyone knew Barrage was the Untouchable... Reaching up, Satyr took a firm grip of Barrages wrist, letting out a menacing growl, and then, like a tightly coiled spring being released, she jumped and brought her knee up into Barrages gut, lifting her off of her feet with a choking gasp. Her shield flickered, but held strong. Tensing and gripping her wrist with bone crushing strength, she brought her knee up again, harder, slamming into her chin and sending her off her feet, then tugging her arm to whiplash her into the floor, forehead slamming into the marble and cracking it. Lifting one strong leg, she brought it down on her head, pulling her arm hard as she did so, which caused a loud crunch as she was pushed down into a crater of shattered marble, her shield flickering and going dim, before fading and going out completely. Satyr released her limp arm, letting it flop onto the ground, then took her foot off of her head and used it to flip her onto her back. Placing her large foot so that the two front claws trapped her, applying enough pressure for her to feel it, she leaned down low, getting on one knee, her visor melting away so that she could see her entire face. Whispering softly, so only she could hear, she let every slow syllable drip with promise, calm and low. "No matter how strong you are... no matter how much you train... on your best day, you will never be as good as I am on my worse. Remember that, because if you ever try to harm any of my students... I will find you. If you run, I will hunt you. No matter where you go, I will come for you..." Tipping her chin up with one claw, she let the plating change, shifting like liquid, becoming a long set of two wrist mounted blades. She let the blades lift her chin, down her throat, and then to her shoulder and across her arm, pressing against her muscle. "And I will cut you. Cross me, or any under my protection, and you will never step into that ring again. This I promise" Standing and taking her foot off of her, she stepped back, watching her. "Now get off of Mr Xavier's property" Barrage grunted, struggling to get to her feet, holding the arm that Satyr had gripped so tightly. Giving one last defiant, yet impotent glare at Satyr, she turned to hobble away, seething the whole while. Satyr did not move, watching like a Gargoyle. Her tail gave a small flick as Charles rolled up next to her. "Minerva, don't you think that was a tad... excessive?" He watched the broken and battered girl, concerned. Satyr relaxed and let her plating recede, melting into her skin. "Little bitch was going to keep on coming until the bigger dog put her in her place. Violence was unavoidable, so it had to be swift" He watched her cautiously, and she knew that the message she relayed to Barrage had been overheard by Xavier. "Hopefully, she takes the hint and lays off. But if she ignores my warning, I will have to follow through" "I was afraid that would be the case... lets hope your not pushed any further then. I should tend to Puzzle however... and the repairs. Again" As he left, Satyr took a long, deep breath, holding it in her chest and letting it out. It felt good to have control again. She sensed a few of the students cautiously approaching from behind, looking to get a glimpse of the retreating Barrage and the crater she had been slammed into. "Dang Miss Ceti, I didn't know you were that... awesome" Swooned Haily, the tiny Indian girl, hugging her books to her chest. While Satyr did feel a spike of pride at this, she hid it well. "Dang Miss Reba, I wasn't aware that everyones classes all just ended at once" She looked back over her shoulder at the students, letting the words sink in, the whipped her tail. "Back to class! Shows over now. If we all just dropped our sessions everything something blew up, nothing would ever get done around here" As they dispersed, she allowed a moment before she smiled, making sure she was alone.
