Vance nervously turned the card over in his hands. He was completely afraid it was some sort of joke.
Then his mind strayed to how Loki had kissed him. He had never been dominated like that, hell he had very little experience in the romance department. Everyone knew he was low class and didn’t pay much mind to him. His love life was limited to the one time a girl at his Eighth Grade Cotillion danced with him and kissed him. The next day he had found out that she had done it to make her boyfriend jealous. The truth was no one really wanted anything to do with him. He was constantly picked on for his grades and achievements in school. He wanted nothing more than to succeed in life, he wanted to be some one. And most important, help his mother. That man captivated him like nothing else. He was tall and elegant, and regal like a prince. He started blushing, he couldn’t believe he was developing a crush on a man twice his age. He decided to find his balls and call the number. *** Loki had his feet crossed on his large mahogany desk. He had just completed his third coat of black paint on his nails. He looked them over and they were perfect. As he was waiting for them to dry his phone rang and he put it on intercom. “Stank Industries, Loki speaking.” There was a slight pause. “Um, this is Vance, I was calling like you said I could.” It was obvious he was nervous. “So were you interested in my offer?” “Yeah, but I don’t know what I could offer you.” Loki instantly became aroused thinking what Vance could offer him. “You could come here in person and we could discuss job opportunities.” “You know I am only 15 and haven’t even graduated high school?” Loki chuckled, “Minor details. Come here for an interview. Make up your own mind after you hear my offer.” “Ok. When?” “Now.” *** Vance felt a little ill as he walked into Stark Industries. He walked up to the receptionist. “Hi, I am here to see Mr. Loki.” She smiled, “Of course, take the elevator to the 48th floor.” He was so nervous. He got in the elevator and hit the 48 button. What if he wasn’t good enough for what he was offered? The ride up seemed like it was over to fast. He swallowed and stepped out when the doors open. Another receptionist on this floor welcomed him and pointed him in the direction of Loki’s office. You can do this, he told himself. He opened the door while his heart raced like a cornered animal. Loki smiled at him, “Thanks for coming, sit down.” Vance sat down and gave a small timid smile. “Hey, relax. Nothing scary here.” Loki winked. Vance gave a nervous laugh. “So, I have an offer to make you. I’d like you to join my development team. You would have an assistant until you were comfortable here.” Vance frowned. “I haven’t even graduated school.” “I can offer you a private tutor, you would still receive an accredited diploma. You wouldn‘t have to attend a traditional school.” Vance turned everything over in his mind, he had thought he was going to be offered some sort of janitor job. “Did you need to see the wage you would earn?” Vance shrugged, he was confused. Loki wrote on a piece of paper and handed it to him. His eyes popped open when he read the paper. He blinked and reread it again. The weekly wage was ten times what his mother made. “This can’t be right.” “If it isn’t enough we can negotiate.” “No! I mean its too much, I’m not worth this much. Why do you even want to hire me?” Loki shrugged, “I have a knack for spotting potential geniuses.” ~ His hands were bound behind his back. “So how are you going to get out of this now, ‘genius‘?” The green eyes in front of him glimmered. “I’ll give you something good…” he smiled and opened his mouth. ~ His face burned red. “I didn’t mean to embarrass you.” Loki said. Vance shook his head. “Its not that.” He kept his eyes on the ground. Loki was amused watching Vance. “Well…then what is it?” Vance’s brown fawn like eyes locked on his. “I just have these…glimpses or something, like I know you.” Loki cocked his head to the side, if he ever needed any proof this was Tony reincarnated, this was it. “Mind sharing?” Vance nearly choked and shook his head. Loki chuckled, “So, moving on, think you are interested in working for me?” “Sure.” He didn’t really have anything to loose anyhow. *** The next few weeks Loki observed Vance from afar. He came in with virtually no experience, but was quick to learn. His coworkers had been instructed to help him learn the ropes. And thankfully it all seemed to be working out. He just wished he could figure out how to get close to him without freaking him out. *** Vance was exhausted. The data he endlessly entered and the projects he started to assist with were easy enough. But, his life just had changed so much it was mind boggling. He smiled to himself, his mother seemed younger. He gave a portion of his paycheck to her every week and her stress seemed to melt away. She had always been so worried about paying bills. He wanted her to quit working, but she insisted she needed to keep working incase this job didn’t pan out for him. But, at least she cut back to part time. He was the last one left, everyone else had taken off as soon as they could, but he didn’t like leaving anything unfinished. The door opened behind him, but he didn’t pay any mind to it. The cleaning crews came and went all day long. He stiffened as a hand rested on his shoulder. “You know you don’t have to stay this long…” Loki purred into his ear. “I know, I just like having things in order.” He turned around and smiled at Loki. “How are things going here for you?” Vance had almost forgotten how enchanting Loki was to be around since it had been a few weeks since he seen him. “Really good, everyone is nice here.” “I’m glad to hear that.” Vance didn’t know what to say, but he didn’t want Loki to leave either. “Are you busy?” He blurted out and was immediately embarrassed by his choice of words. Loki smirked, “Depends if you want to join me for supper.” Vance nodded. “Then forget about what you were doing and let’s go.” Vance followed him out of the building. He shivered as the cold fall wind hit him. Loki took his coat off, “Here.” “I couldn’t.” “Don’t worry, this isn’t cold to me. I have thick blood.” He winked. “Thanks,” Vance slipped the finely tailored coat on. “See? It looks better on you than me.” Loki smiled. “It looked very nice on you.” Vance blushed. Loki smiled at him as they continued walking down the sidewalk. They arrived at a restaurant that looked extremely fancy to Vance. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
