Jamie
closed his eyes and bit his lip. He was
trying not to breathe hard or make any noise but he was fairly certain a moan
had escaped a moment or two before, when Rahne did that *thing* with her
tongue. He splayed his fingers against
the seat in the gazebo, the rough wood scraping his skin as he tensed.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> The vines Storm had planted two years before
afforded them some privacy but he could not shake the feeling they were going
to be caught or somehow found out later.
Rahne had been so enticing, though, and the thought of being with her
for even a few minutes was too tempting to ignore.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> He gasped as she drew on him, her fingers
moving along his inner thighs as her lips and tongue wreaked havoc on his self
control. He knew he did not have much
longer before the inevitable but he tried to make it last as long as he
could. Rahne’s breath tickled his skin
and he shivered, her soft laugh of amusement against him and around him drawing
another moan from his throat. Her tongue
brushed roughly along the underside of his length before swirling around the
sensitive tip and he gasped again. His
body tensed and arched slightly a moment before he felt her start to draw away
then apparently change her mind. His
eyes flew open as she swallowed the spill of his release, laving him as he shivered
in climax. Jamie felt his face flush as
Rahne drew away, sitting back on her heels and adjusting his clothing to a more
modest presentation. “Rahne,” he began, class=GramE>then shook his head, catching his breath.

“Hush,
we’re getting company,” she replied, sitting on the bench next to him with an
almost beatific smile on her face. Tabby
rounded the doorway a moment later, pausing as she saw the two of them sitting
in the leafy dusk of the outbuilding.
“Hey, Tab.”

Tabby
frowned. “Don’t call me that.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> That’s a soft drink.”style='mso-special-character:footnote'>class=MsoFootnoteReference>[1]style='mso-spacerun:yes'> She swayed in the doorway for a moment, class=GramE>then took a tentative step in, nothing like her former
self. She had become wan, dark circles
giving her eyes a sunken appearance and her body so thin that she looked sick,
her collar bones jutting out and her arms hanging bony from her sleeves.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> She had not had a solid night’s sleep since
Lucas disappeared nor had she eaten more than a few mouthfuls of food at a
time, always at someone’s urging and usually throwing up afterwards.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Mark had tried to help her, showing her
resources for the parents of kidnapping victims both mundane and mutant, but so
far, nothing had changed. She was still
torn into pieces, Wanda and Lucas both gone.
Wanda called, her messages brief, her promises
short. She was looking, she said, trying
to find him. But she never said where
she was, what she was doing while she looked. Tabby wondered if she were just
being nice, trying to spare her until she was stronger and then leave…style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Rahne’s intent gaze broke her from her reverie
though and she remembered why she had come outside to find her.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “I wanted to, um… I want to ask a favor.”

Rahne and
Jamie exchanged a look. “Okay…”style='mso-spacerun:yes'> The Scottish girl stood, hoping her own
clothing was in order, and took a step towards Tabby.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “What’s up?”

“I need
help. A lot of it.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I’m pretty sure I know where my baby is but
no one wants to believe me…” She tilted
her chin up, a defiant expression on her face now.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “Everyone tries to tell me to wait, that the
police or this group or that one is gonna find him and I shouldn’t run off
looking cause I might get hurt or something.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Not one of them has ever lost a baby!” She
took a deep, gulping breath and forced herself to continue.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “Mark… that librarian guy…tried to get me in
touch with some mutie groups but they’re not gonna
help. I know it.”

“So what’re
you saying, Tabby?” Rahne’s voice was
soft and she closed the distance between them with a few steps.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “You think I know some super secret way to
find Lucas? Or you think I’m going to
help you do something stupid?”

“I was class=SpellE>kinda hoping for the second one,” Tabby admitted, looking
at her steadily. “Both of you.”

class=GramE>“Both of us?” Jamie echoed, his eyes widening.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “When’d I get dragged into this?”style='mso-spacerun:yes'>

“You’re
perfect for it,” Tabby replied quickly, her voice taking on an excited note now
that she could see her plan being birthed.
“You’re a natural distraction!”

“In several
ways,” Rahne muttered. She shook her
head slightly and put a hand on Tabby’s arm.
“Listen to me… think about this before you do it.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> We’ll all get in trouble and you don’t know
where Lucas is for sure, no matter what your gut says.”style='mso-spacerun:yes'> She took a breath and said, in a rush, “I
don’t think it’s a good idea to run off on your own without some sort of law
enforcement help here.”

Jamie spoke
up before Tabby could reply. “Okay.”

The two
females turned to him and stared. “What?” they said in unison.

“Okay.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> I’ll help you, Tabby. What do you need me to
do?” He grinned nervously, feeling a few
butterflies form a conga line in his stomach.
_Everyone has to do something incredibly stupid before the age of
twenty… who said that? Or did I just
make that up? _

Tabby class=GramE>smiled, a slight expression that was nothing like her usual
broad grin. “Good.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> Find me after dinner tonight in the class=SpellE>rec room. I’ll be
ready to go then.”

“Go where?”
Rahne asked as Tabby turned away, thudding down the three steps of the
gazebo. “Where are we going?”

“The
Boardinghouse,” Tabby said, walking backwards a few paces.style='mso-spacerun:yes'> “Wear black.”
