"Where do we go now?" Freyr asks Loki.
They traveled to the palace with Freyr creating an illusion and changing their appearance, but they will not be able to pass within the palace walls with Freyr's illusion in place because of the enchantment. Now they will have to rely on stealth and Loki's knowledge of the palace.
"There is a tunnel that leads to the servants lower bath house to the left. From there we can use the passages to make our way to the throne room. The sceptre should be in an antechamber behind the throne."
Loki leads the way to the passage and quickly accesses the hidden locking mechanism. Once they are inside he makes his way to the lower baths where they then head further into the palace, "I hope your diversion works," he tells the other man.

"My sister will do her part. She will keep the guards busy at the bifrost bridge. They'll think they have you trapped there," Freyr explains.
As they continue through the passages Loki stops near Odin's bed chamber. "Why are we here?" Freyr asks impatiently.
"I have to know where Odin is. We cannot walk into the throne room with him there," Loki snaps.
As hoped, a guard approaches and knocks on the door. Odin opens it and quietly confers with him. "Quickly, we won't have much time," Loki says as he darts down the passage way to the throne room. Carefully opening the passage ever so slightly, Loki checks the throne room and see's it to be empty. "There will be guards in with the scepter. You will need to handle them while I retrieve it. Do not kill anyone!" Loki directs as he heads to the door leading to the antechamber. "I'll go in first."
He throws open the door and heads straight for the sceptre. There is only one guard who immediately moves to intercept him, so he doesn't see Freyr come in behind him. Freyr jumps on the guard from behind, knocking him to the ground causing his helmet to come off. Seizing the opportunity Freyr slams the guards head into the ground, stunning him then he quickly binds his hands. When he turns to Loki he finds that he has already retrieved the sceptre. Loki hands the weapon to Freyr, "use it to change me back to asgardian and restore my magic. Quickly."
Freyr touches it to Loki's chest. Closing his eyes Loki can feel the change taking place in his body. When he opens his eyes he smiles at Freyr then lunges at him grabbing the sceptre away and knocking Freyr to the ground. "What are you doing? We had a deal!" Freyr cries.
Loki ignores him and reaches down to remove the bindings from the guard and place them on Freyr. "Run to Odin," Loki tells the guard. "Now!" he shouts when the guard hesitates.
Turning back to Freyr he tells him, "You were a fool to trust me."
"Loki, think of what you are throwing away. Control of the realms could be yours. Why would you do this?" Freyr pleads.
"Get up," Loki tells him, ignoring the questions and gestures towards the throne room. When they emerge, the room is already filled with guards. Pushing Freyr in front of him, Loki waits for Odin to arrive with the sceptre pointed out towards the guards. The throne room doors are thrown open and Thor rushes in with Odin right behind him.
"Stay back brother. This does not concern you," Loki warns pointing the sceptre at him. Then he approaches Odin and places the scepter at his feet. Stepping back he says, "I did not run father."
Immediately the guards rush Loki and bind his hands. He makes no effort to fight them.
"Take him to the prison," Odin tells the guards, indicating Freyr. "I will need to investigate what has happened here."
"Father, what of Loki? He came back, surely that counts for something," Thor implores.
"He will be confined to his chamber until I can make a determination of his role in this crime," Odin pronounces and then turns to leave.
The guards lead Freyr away as Thor moves to embrace his brother. "I am glad you came back."
"Of course I did. I am not a coward. I intend to face judgment," Loki tells him.
"You have changed my brother. You bring honor to yourself with your actions," he tells Loki as he walks out.
Loki says nothing, but inwardly he smiles. Honor. That is not something he gave much thought about before.
