Chapter 2
It was midday, or what the group guess passed for midday, on the planet the quartet had learned was named Sakaar. Based on the information that they had acquired from the red skinned saboteurs Cybermancer was flying their puddle jumper across the desolate landscape to their destination, a place called Crown City. The temperature gauges read like they were in the Sahara desert on the hottest day of the year, but the air conditioning inside the ship was holding up thankfully. Jennifer and Suzi were incredibly grateful that they did not have to transverse the ground on foot on a day like today. Due to the temperature outside the Lady Liberators had changed their uniforms to suit their new environment.
Brunnhilda had switched to a simple black singlet but wore her belt. The metal choker she normally wore was discarded for the time being and was simply cloth. Gone were her cape, clasps, metal breast plates and arm bands to keep her weight down in this heat. She kept her metal wrist bands at her side but did not currently have them on. Her long blonde hair was currently tided in a single long pony tail traveling down her back, as opposed to the two braids she normally wore.
Cybermancer was wearing an upgrade to her normal suit, her armor was covered by a layer of unstable molecules. This coupled with her suits temperature controlling allowed her to remain relatively comfortable in this hostile environment.
Jennifer wore her standard purple and white singlet, purple fingerless gloves and boots. As she told her companions, you don't mess with a good thing.
Thundra's appearance was the most changed. Thundra was adorned in an almost identical suit to Jennifer's save that it was red in the areas where Jennifer's was purple and yellow as opposed to white. In addition, she also had a diamond cut out exposing the top of her cleavage. Thundra also had fingerless gloves with knuckle studs and matching red boots. Valkyrie found the costume change odd as per her file Thundra had always worn the same outfit, until this very moment. She also noted that Jennifer and Thundra appeared closer, almost intimately close around one another but chose to not say anything to the pair as long as nothing interfered with the mission at hand.
“How far until we reach the coordinates?” Jennifer asked.
“If our intel is accurate we should be there any minute.” Suzi replied.
No sooner had they crossed the valley did the quartet see the magnificent site of the city dubbed Crown City. The architecture was amazing for a world seeming to have limited technology. As they gazed upon the city Suzi was made aware of movement on the ground and troops taking up position. The scanners screamed at her as various weapons were trained on their ship.
“Jen,we have a problem!” Suzi informed the mission leader.
Jennifer looked at the images being displayed and decided on the best choice given the situation. “Suzi, turn the ship so that the ramp is facing the structure that looks like the palace. Take us down very slowly and try not to do anything to give them a reason to shoot at us.”
Cybermancer nodded and carried out her orders. The air in the ship was tense as the ship came in for a landing. All save Cybermancer would be able to survive the ship exploding, the problem that occurred afterwords would be returning home. The group listened to the sounds of the hydraulics lowering the landing gear. The gear hissed as they expelled air and the shock absorbers kicked in as the landing gear touched down on the paved surface.
“Suzi, slave the controls to your armor and set the self destruct just in case. We're all getting out so as not to cause suspicion.” Jennifer Walters ordered.
Valkyrie and Thundra moved for the weapon's rack but were immediately cut off. “No!” Jennifer stated loudly. “No weapons. We're here to investigate, not provoke a fight.”
“Are you sure that is wise?” Valkyrie asked. She trusted Jen with her life but rarely did she part with her sword, Dragonfang.
“If we need weapons, I'm sure we can always procure them from the locals.” Thundra smugly stated.
Brunnhilda looked at her teammate for a brief moment before grinning and nodding at the warrior queen.
“Let's try to keep things civil. Don't let them provoke you into a fight, but if they want a fight, we will give them one.” The She-Hulk proclaimed.
Jennifer was about to disembark when she was stopped by Brunnhilda.
“I will go first this time. Thundra will go next followed by Cybermancer and then yourself. We need to keep Suzi well protected but we also don't want them taking a shot at you as soon as you walk out, just in case.” The Valkyrie stated.
Jennifer thought over her statement and found no flaw in her logic. She smiled and nodded.
Brunnhilda was the first down the ramp. She walked with a demeanor that was both confident but non-threatening. Thundra followed her teammate and carried herself in the same fashion. The smaller Cybermancer allowed her visor to hide the concern she actually felt but knew that with three of the strongest women on her planet besides her she had very little to worry about for the most part.
It was when Jennifer Walters made her way down the ramp that things really got interesting. The crowd visibly gasped at her presence. Many began muttering and as Suzi tried to record and enhance what was being said found it extremely difficult due to the shear volume of chatter.
The ladies waited for several minutes and after the ship's sensor gave Suzi the intel they needed, that the guards were no longer aiming their weapons at them, did she give Jennifer the all's well signal.
“Hello.” Jennifer stated coming to the forefront of the group.
The crowd parted as a woman as tall as the She-Hulk approached. Her skin was gray with distinguishing tattoos on her forehead. Her hair was black and ran down to the small of her back, or so Jen guessed) and she had very green eyes. The group was quickly sizing her up in case this turned violent. Jen guessed she had to be at least as strong as she was given her physique.
“I am Caiera the Oldstrong, Queen of Sakaar and the mate of the Sakaarson. Who are you and why have you come here?”
“I am Jennifer Walters. To my left is Thundra, Queen of a race of warrior women. To my right is Brunnhilda the Valkyrie of Asgard along with our friend Suzi Endo. We are looking for someone.” Jennifer stated with a pause.
“Green, very tall... has the occasional outburst of rage and things then to fall down afterwords.”
“You speak of Holku... the Hulk.” Caiera stated trying to hide her thoughts. She had no idea who the Jade skinned woman before her was and why she was seeking her mate. For the first time since she met the Sakaarson she felt an alien emotion... jealousy.
“Yes the Hulk. You see I am his family.” Jennifer informed the queen.
Before any could register the movement Caiera had closed the distance between herself and the jade giantess and delivered an uppercut to the woman's chin. Jen was propelled upwards and barely cleared the ship before she came crashing down on a street venders recently repaired stand.
Thundra launched herself forward and delivered a left cross to Caiera. Thundra failed to notice that Caiera's skin had solidified in the brief time it took the warrior queen to reach her but it did not stop the impact, nor did this move keep her on her feet. The Oldstrong flew backwards and crashed against the stone wall behind her.
Cybermancer keyed the emergency dust off procedure into the control panel of the ship via her cyber link and watched as the ship lifted up and sped away before they found themselves stranded on this world. As soldiers with spears arrived Suzi brought them all up on her H.U.D. and when she had set the power to what she hoped was an adequate level unleashed energy blasts on the seven red skinned guards that were charging her. The guards all fell to the ground from the stun blasts and when she was sure they were unconscious, Suzi target another group and let loose with some more energy blasts.
Brunnhilda was in a groups of humanoid insects and despite her desire to squash them all, was adhering to Jennifer's earlier instruction on not killing anyone unless absolutely necessary. As they bugs were no real threat to her, she was simply using the minimal amount of force necessary to incapacitate them.

Jennifer Walters sat ups slowly as she tried to clear her head. The blow to her jaw would have probably killed most people, but she thanked her gamma genes for quick healing and great durability. Shaking her head she slowly returned to her feat and when her eyes finally refocused she watched as her lover and the Sakaarian Queen traded blows that should by all rights be shattering mountains. Neither opponent held anything back but Jennifer wondered how much more her lover could take. Jennifer watched as Thundra ducked a slow right cross from Caiera only to realize, just as Thundra had, that the right cross was a setup for a spinning round kick that almost snapped Thundra's neck. Barely moving in time, the snap heard was Thundra's right arm being torn from its socket.
Jennifer wasted no further time. Before the Oldstrong could deliver some kind of final blow to the injured Thundra, the She-Hulk ran at the Shadow Warrior and speared the stone skinned woman through three walls before finally sending her up and to the ground several feet bellow her. Jennifer fought to catch her breath and could only watch as Caiera wearily pulled herself up. Jennifer knew the fight would continue but fell back towards the ground her companions were holding their ground so they could maintain their defensive position.
The soldiers of Crown City and their allies surrounded the four off worlders, weapons at the ready. Valkyrie had reset Thundra's arm in its socket in the time that that She-Hulk was dealing with the Queen and was more than ready to continue her attack. When Caiera the Oldstrong returned she looked visibly angry and prepared to give orders to her soldiers.
It was at that moment that the situation came to a head.
With the impact of a bomb the Green King arrived. The look on his face was one of rage but the people of Sakaar could not tell who the rage was directed at. One would think it was the off worlders but as he himself was from beyond the stars many did not know for sure.
“WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!!!” Hulk bellowed from the top of his lungs.
“Holku...” Caiera called out.
“Bruce...” The She-Hulk stated.
Caiera turned to her rival and glared. How dare she call him by that name, the name of his other self. She just about screamed when Jennifer closed the distance and wrapped her arms around her mate. The Oldstrong's heart dropped in her chest when the Holku returned her embrace.
“Jennifer... how???”
“Holku...” Caiera said, a sadness in her tone.
“My queen, allow me to introduce you to Jennifer Walters, the She-Hulk.”
“Shhhh She-Hu... Hulk?”
“Yes. My cousin.” Hulk informed the masses.
“Cousin?” Caiera proclaimed.
“Yes, cousin. She is my family.”

Much later, after apologies had been given and stories told, the Hulk and She-Hulk were given time to be alone to talk.
“So... to get the pink elephant out of the room, how did you end up here?” Jennifer asked.
The Hulk decided not to get himself worked up, so he transformed himself back to Banner. Bruce stretched for a moment as it had been a while since he had been back to normal. “The Illuminati sent me here.” Bruce answered.
“The Illuminati?” Jennifer said half bewildered, half jovial. There had been many conspiracy theories linked back to a mythical group that supposedly controlled everything. She just didn't think Bruce believed in such things.
“Yes, not the controlling events for monetary gain or world domination Illuminati though, that is just what I refer to them as. They wanted me off the board so that they could “guide” the superhero community.” Bruce informed his cousin.
“Ok, say I believe you that there is a group of capes trying to guide things, who would...” And then Jennifer stopped herself. It was as if she had just read the last clue of a mystery novel and all of the pieces were now in place.
“Tony... Tony Stark.” Jennifer said practically yelling. She was on the verge of becoming deathly ill right in front of her cousin. During her cousins absence she had been tasked by Tony himself to take out Hulk level threats. During this time she actually slept with Tony (once) but realized it was a mistake and the two agreed to leave it as a one time thing. Jennifer ran to a nearby trash receptacle and emptied the contents of her stomach into it. She could feel the tears falling down her face at the thought of what she'd done, who she'd done it with, and it just made her sicker.
When she was finally done she had failed to realize that she had reverted to her normal form and was now being comforted by her cousin.
“D... did Reed know?” Jennifer asked half heartedly. She didn't know if she really wanted her cousin to answer but she had to know.
“Jen...”
“Please... just... just tell me who they are and what happened.”
Bruce sighed. “Tony Stark, Stephen Strange, Reed Richards, Black Bolt, Professor Xavier and Namor are the members. Professor Xavier wasn't present for the vote that exiled me and Namor voted against it. The others all agreed to the plan.”
“I can't believe they would send you here.” Jen practically yelled.
“Honestly they didn't. I was supposed to be sent to an uninhabited planet to live in peace. But you know what they say about the best laid plans. I passed through that worm hole and ended up here. The rest... well you know how it ended.”
Jennifer cuddled against her cousin. “So... you're married.” She said with a smile on her face.
“Well, the Hulk is married. This time I'm along for the ride.”
“And you're letting him drive this time.” Jennifer stated.
“This world is made for him. I'm the fifth wheel as it were.” Bruce replied.
“So what happens now?” Jennifer wondered.
“I'm... we're staying. The Hulk is happy. He has people that love him for who he is. A wife that is in every way his equal. I'm happy for him, and have no problem being in the background for once.” Bruce stated.
“If you're happy, then I am happy for you... both.” Jen replied.
“So... with that said when did you start playing for the other team?” Bruce inquired.
Jen blushed at Bruce's statement. “I have no idea what you are referring to.”
“Jen, we've been close since we were little, did you really think I wouldn't notice the love I see between you and Thundra?”
“Rebecca.” Jennifer said.
“I beg your pardon?” A shocked Bruce Banner inquired.
“Her name is Rebecca. I named her after your mom. Thundra sounds odd when you're making love.”
“So when did this occur?” Bruce asked, not wanting the intimate details, just the factual ones.
“Recently. And after our discussion most likely a permanent one, even if Rebecca and I don't work out sometime down the line.” Jennifer stated adamantly.
Bruce leaned over and kissed his cousin's brow, “I'm happy for you.” He said.
“I'm going to turn in. Good nite Sakaarson.” Jennifer offered.
“Good night Jen.” Bruce replied before returning to the form of the Hulk.
