Chapter 18
The next morning there is a knock at the door. Loki wraps his body in a robe and answers it to find Frigga there. "The sentencing will convene in 2 hours. Odin will send for you."
"Thank you mother. I will be ready." Loki tells her then closes the door as she turns to leave. He rests his head against the door as he prepares to place a smile on his face for Shelia's sake. He is so lost in thought that he is startled when she wraps her arms around him from behind.
"We will face this. Together," she tells him.
2 hours later there is another knock at the door. When Loki opens it Thor is there with 2 guards.
"Brother, are you ready?"
"Yes I am," Loki answers as he steps out the door with Shelia right behind him.
A guard approaches to place binders on his wrists. Seeing this, Loki moves to comply, but Thor intervenes. "That is not necessary."
"As you wish," the guard responds and steps back to walk behind Loki.
The group enters the Throne Room with Thor and one of the guards in the lead followed by Loki with Shelia by his side. The last guard seals the Throne Room doors behind them as Loki approaches Odin. Shelia stands back with Thor. She is feeling light headed and her stomach is twisting in knots, but she maintains a calm outward appearance for Loki's sake.
"Loki of Midgard you have been brought before me for sentencing for breaking the terms of your banishment," Odin begins.
Loki is puzzled by the way Odin addresses him, but only nods in response even though he wants to try to plead his case.
"I have reviewed all the information at my disposal. Although I have no doubt that your actions were indeed motivated by an unselfish love I cannot allow this transgression to pass with no consequences. After much deliberation it has been determined that this relationship between an asgardian and midgardian cannot be the basis for a claim of redemption."
Hearing this Loki's heart sinks and he casts his eyes downward, but he remains outwardly calm as Odin approaches with his staff.
"Your sentence is to be carried out immediately, for the sake of security."
As Odin is about to touch the staff to Loki's chest two things happen simultaneously. Shelia faints, overcome with grief. Thor instantly kneels at her side to check on her while at the same time a portal briefly opens up next to Loki and a man steps through. All eyes turn to the new comer. He stands tall and imposing.
"Freyr! What is the meaning of this?"Odin demands.
"Loki cannot be executed! I have foreseen the future. We are approaching a waypoint! He is to sire a powerful sorceress who will rule the nine realms!" Freyr declares.
"His sentencing must be carried out Freyr!" Odin shouts at him.
"Then you leave me no choice," he responds defiantly. A second portal opens behind Loki and Freyr grabs him and pushes him through, sealing it behind them.
"Search the kingdom! Find them!" Odin's roars.
Frigga runs to check on Shelia. "Thor contact Dr. Banner and then join the search for Loki. I'll look after Shelia," she tells her son.
Thor nods and walks out of the room as Frigga calls a servant to help her move Shelia back to Loki's room.

Elsewhere
Loki turns on Freyr in anger, "what have you done?"
"You must live. The future of the realms depends on it. Your child will be a powerful sorceress. She will unite the 9 realms. I have foreseen it," Freyr answers.
Loki doesn't even bother answering him. He knows he needs to figure a way out of this mess.

Loki’s chamber
"Her readings are not making any sense. I don't see any injuries or any other physical reason for her to be unconscious. It's like she's been sedated," Dr. Banner tells Frigga.
"Is it possible that she has been drugged?" she asks concerned.
"I don't think so. Her blood tests are all normal. It's her brain scans that are not normal. There is a lot of activity that I can't explain."
"What can we do?" Frigga asks.
"Nothing right now," He tells her as he packs up his equipment.
Shelia is dreaming. She is sitting in a beautiful field of flowers. There are a few wispy clouds in the sky and a slight breeze. She is wearing a long gown of green silk with a crown of flowers woven into her hair. "I'll be able to send you back soon," a voice says behind her.
Turning to look in the direction of the voice, Shelia sees a young woman with a slight build standing there. She has long brown hair and bright green eyes, but her skin is blue and there are raised designs on her exposed flesh. She is wearing a black tunic and pants with gold and green armor and trim. At her waist hangs a long sword and there is a dagger strapped to her thigh. She is clearly a woman to be feared. And yet Shelia has no fear. This striking woman is familiar to her.
"Why am I here?" Shelia asks.
"I needed to protect you and your relationship with Loki. I cannot exist if your love for Loki is tarnished or you sustain further injury," she tells Shelia.
"I don't understand. Where is Loki?"
"He will figure out a way back to you. Have faith in him."
"Who are you?" Shelia asks.
"You will know my name soon. The time is drawing near. Trust in him. When the time comes remember me," She says as she turns and walks away.

Elsewhere
"If this is going to work you must have a suitable mate. Someone both wise and powerful. Someone like Freya," Freyr tells Loki. "For the sake of the realms you must cooperate!
"And I told you, that I have no interest in any of this!" Loki yells.
"Think on it Loki. You will sire the one meant to bring peace to the realms. Which means you will effectively be in control of all the realms. With Freya at your side this will be reality," Freyr tempts trying to appeal to Loki's vanity and convince him that his sister is the best choice of mate.
"Control of the nine realms....." Loki begins, his mind working out the details of a plan. "The only foreseeable problem with your little scheme here is that I am human. I can't very well sire a sorceress in this form."
“That is.... Unexpected. And most unfortunate. We will have to think on this."
"There is a solution...A way to turn me back," Loki tells him nonchalantly.
"And if we were able to make this happen? You would then cooperate and take Freya as your mate for the future of the 9 realms?" Freyr ventures.
"Yes. I can assure you that once I have been changed back, I will concern myself only with finding a suitable mate for the sake of the realms," Loki promises.
"Very well then. What is your plan."
