Chapter 15
Rise of the Storm
Always
It was cool, not cold and not warm some where in-between. The school was only going to grow in size as the number of mutants born increased. Although it was a school very soon it was going to be a community especially with all the mutants that were seeking refuge. Logan leaned over Ororo’s balcony. Last night it was decided that Logan would take Ororo to the cabin and remain there until Ororo was well again. Logan knew that the school need Ororo but between Hank and Madelyne they agreed to take care of the school until Ororo was well again.
It worried him still that Ororo had not awoken but Hank assured him it was normal as normal as could be in the situation as it was. Logan took one last look at the grounds and grabbed his duffel bag. Karma had packed a bag for Ororo which was good because Logan had no idea what she might need. Logan headed to the garage and on his way ran into Remy.
“I still owe you for that Wolvie comment.” Logan’s words brought a smile to Remy’s face. “Right now I don’t have time to punish you.”It was at that moment that a splendid idea drifted across his mind. “While I am gone you get to teach the combat class.” Remy took a step back.
“No mon. Not that.” Logan smiled and nodded as he threw his bag over his shoulder.
“I am sure that the students won’t be too hard on you.” Logan turned and walked away the smile spreading even further out.
There was no one else between him and the garage but when he reached it, it was full of students and teachers. Logan shook his head there was no reason for any goodbye.
Hank, Warren, Karma, Alex and Gabriel stood around the SUV that Ororo now rested in. Bobby, Kitty, Megan, Tabitha and Evan stood off to one side the girls were talking quietly but the boys were not speaking too much. When Evan saw Logan he walked over slowly and looked down.
“So you might be seeing a lot of memories from Ororo.” Evan paused then continued. “Know that no matter what you see she…” Evan looked over at the group of kids.
“What you trying to say kid?” Evan nodded at Logan taking a deep breath.
“She has always loved it here and over the past few months I have watched her fall in love with you. But before all this she had another life and your going to see it. See what turned her into the woman you see. Remember that it is all in the past.” Evan turned without another word and left the room leaving the other students in the corner. Logan shook his head and walked over to Hank.
“You sure that none of us can help her right now?” Karma was leaning against the car when she spoke but her eyes were on the approaching Logan.
“It is clear that the only one that can help our weather witch is Logan.” Hank was hanging above the SUV. “All we can do to assist him is to ensure that they are not disturbed.” Gabriel was leaning against a wall hanging his head.
“Even under the affects of the Scarlet Witch she still chose to save me. I owe her everything.” Alex looked at his younger brother and for the first time in a long time felt that maybe they could be a family again.
“Alright all you get outta here. No need for a goodbye I will bring her back just fine.” Everyone turned to Logan and Hank jumped down.
“Logan is right come now lets leave them be.” Everyone filed out of the garage and Logan climbed into the SUV. Logan brushed Ororo’s cheek and sighed there was a knock at the window. Hope stepped back and Logan opened the window.
“What ya need kiddo?” Hope smiled and handed him a smaller ball.
“I just wanted to give you one more piece. This ball you can use to generate a field that will allow other mutants to pass but not Ororo at least not until the web of lies has gone. It will also allow you to know where she is for her and your protection. Oh and don’t be fooled I am not a telepath, not exactly anyway. My ability lies in manipulation, I will explain more when you return.” Logan raised an eyebrow and nodded.
“You have helped her so when we return, you will have our undivided attention.” Logan nodded at Hope not sure what he had just agreed to but put the SUV in reverse and left the mansion. The drive he knew well, he had taken it more then a few times to get away from the chaos that was the school. Lately though he spent less and less time away Logan glanced at Ororo. She was the reason for the change. Something he would no longer deny, after everything that they shared.
As the road weaved and turned in a familiar way that Logan knew all to well he began to wonder what would have happened if he had not been here. Logan ignored the thought and parked the SUV in front of the cabin. Carefully he removed Ororo and took her inside. It was easy for him to carry her to a bed and lay her in it. For a moment he was struck by her beauty even asleep there was no other woman who came close. Jean’s death might have opened his eyes but he was never really in love with her. It should have been clear to him sooner. Logan shook his head and gathered the rest of the belongings from the SUV.
Physic Light sat on the edge of the night stand and Logan stared at it for a while. Being in her mind he could see the old Ororo the one that he fell in love with and he had to find a way to bring her out to free her from the lies that swarmed in her brain. Carefully he lifted the orb turning it over in his hands it was unadorned completely plain silver orb except for a button.
“What’s there to be afraid of?” Logan pressed the button and placed the orb in Ororo’s hand as soon as both of their hands touched the orb darkness descended.
———— Meanwhile ————
Even though they were only students the girls were nothing to mess with the explosion echoed across the street as Boom-Boom’s time bombs exploded causing the desired reaction as Bobby and Remy were thrown away from the fight.
“Arg… remin me neve’ to anger those girls.” Remy rubbed his head and Cannonball shielded them from another attack this time it was from Jubilee’s fireworks.
“Boss man Logan normally keeps the girls on separate teams because of this reason.” Remy glanced at Evan he had been distracted because of his Aunt but Remy sighed.
“Why did’n you tell Remy befor’ han’.” Evan shrugged in answer and he ran a hand over his face.
“Because we figured that you knew what you were doing.” Iceman turned to ice and shot off some ice spikes into the sky. Magma used her abilities to send earth smashing each one. “If we take out Rogue she's the mastermind. It would be a lot easier if Kurt was here.” Shadowcat phased through the wall and grabbed Remy phasing back out with him before anyone could do anything else. Remy sighed these girls were the future of the X-men.
“An dis be the end o the game.” Pixie smiled and flew over Remy letting him have some pixie dust she landed next to Rogue.
“I did as you asked.” Rogue smiled and nodded. There was a reason that Rogue had pushed for an all girls team. Many of the X-men still had trouble believing that the other girls were ready for battle but after this Rogue knew they would look at all of them differently.
“Nice. Good job girls now Jubilee your up.” She nodded and threw fireworks into the sky.
“Are you sure this is such a good idea.” Pixie watched the boys as they were blinded by the light.
“They need to understand that we can handle ourselves.” Pixie nodded at Rogue’s words and jumped back in the air spreading her pixie dust on the other boys. Rogue had said that the hallucinations that would grip them should be weak only so no one would be injured. Once Pixie landed Rogue turned to Boom-Boom.
“Its all you sweetie.” Rogue smiled and Boom-Boom raised her hand three marble sized bombs laid in each of her hands. Each big enough to knock out each team member. Boom-Boom loved wearing roller skates she had figured out how to use them in battle and as she circled the battle area she knocked each member out. First Sunspot before he could power up, next it was Berzerker waiting for the moment just before he turned into electricity, third she chose Spyke not that he was easy but with the pixie dust he was rubbing from his eyes he never saw the blast. Cannonball saw it coming but his shield was too late to stop it as it knocked him out. Fifth was Iceman although he was already ice the bomb sent him flying. Rogue had expected that this might not knock him out so Magma had already been in position to give him an extra knock with her Geothermal powers. Lastly was Remy as Boom-Boom rounded on him he took a step back not quiet balanced.
“Ah come now de Gambit is sorry.” Rogue smiled and nodded.
“Sorry Gamie but them be the rules. Besides I was told to make it difficult.” Remy shook his head as Boom-Boom threw the bomb and he was thrown back slipping into unconsciousness just like all the other men. Rogue looked up at the camera as the danger room scene fell away and smiled.
“For you Logan. I didn’t even need to use my powers.” Carefully the girls turned and left the room. Although Rogue did have feelings for Remy it didn’t mean that she was not going to take him down a peg or two as needed.
———— Cabin ————
Cold, darkness blew hard all around the blinding snow absorbed everything around him it was slow as he stepped through the blizzard and the heavy snow that was all around. Nothing broke up the view as far as he could see was snow flat everlasting snow. Why was he here in this arctic land? What was he supposed to be doing? It slipped away faster then he could remember.
“You left.” Logan spun around someone was there in the blinding snow but he could not tell who it was.
“I did?” Logan was confused, trying to remember where he had been or where he was supposed to go.
“Yes.” The voice was now coming from his right but it wasn’t as harsh as the one from in front of him had been. “Your back now. I didn’t think that you would come back.” Logan took a step forward toward the voice.
“I’m so confused.” There was a hand on his shoulder and he turned around to find himself suddenly in a meadow and a beautiful woman was looking at him with her cool calculating eyes.
“Is this better?” Gentle the voice pierced the veil of confusion that surrounded his memory and he nodded at her grasping her arm.
“I only took us somewhere private so I could focus on you.” Ororo smiled and suddenly the sun was shinning brighter then a moment before.
“Very well I forgive you but be cautious the divide in my mind is getting worse.” Logan nodded and they walked forward into the deeper recesses of her mind.
———— Meanwhile ————
“That was cruel chere.” Remy walked up behind Rogue and she turned around with a smile.
“Please you knew it was supposed to be difficult why else would Logan leave you in charge of that class.” Remy shook his head and wrapped his arms around her. “Wait, wait, I thought we agreed.” Remy laid a gloved finger over her lips.
“Tis clear to me chere, I have nothin’ to hide when it comes to you.” Rogue smiled but it was a longing smile because she could no longer touch him like she wanted to and she looked away hiding a tear. “Ma petite,” Remy turned her face back to him wiping away the tear, “I will wait forever for ya, wit’out you… I don’t have much of a life.” Rogue took his hand in her’s and smiled.
“Its Marie.” Remy smiled even more.
“A beautiful name for a beautiful girl.” Remy rested a hand on her cheek, ever since the incident he had taken to wearing gloves so that he could touch her whenever he desired.
“I will learn control of my powers.” Rogue sighed and then a voice spoke sweetly from behind Remy.
“I could assist you in finding your trigger. Although it is not something I have done previously I have had a lot of practice manipulating other abilities to use for myself.” Hope stepped forward her happy disposition made Rogue smile and she pulled away from Remy.
“How would it work?” Rogue moved closer to Hope and waited to hear more about what Hope thought she could do. Hope closed her eyes and reached with her mind to Rogue, Rogue closed her eyes as well. Inside her mind Hope stood as a young woman beside Rogue.
‘Its simple in principle not so simple in execution. See this here is the room that should contain your powers and when you want them to work you open the door.’ Hope opened it and there behind the door were all the minds that she had absorbed. Hope waved at Logan as he held back Magneto and the other minds. Nodding back as Hope closed the door. ‘See this is the way it should be but there is no room holding them there is just your mind. Although you could not have known how to control your powers.’ Hope paused. ‘I suppose you could use anything to hold them, but you need the separation from your mind you can access the memory then whenever you need to but…’ Hope paused some of the minds were stronger then the other Hope snapped her fingers. ‘I’ve got it!’ Hope closed her eyes and the Logan version of Rogue’s mind appeared. ‘Logan is going to be your greatest asset for the moment he is the strongest one in your mind other then yourself. Since he cares about you he will be your greatest ally.’ Hope looked him up and down.
‘How does this help me?’ Rogue folded her arms waiting for an answer.
‘Sorry skipped that part.’ Hope smiled and looked back at Logan. ‘Okay Logan you are only a small piece of the real Logan inside Rogue’s mind.’ Logan grunted and folded his arms.
‘I know.’ Hope smiled and clapped her hands and twirled.
‘Good! Then you understand why it is important for her to gain control of her powers.’ Logan nodded not needing words. ‘So… we can have cells for those who don’t understand or agree those we will lock away. Those that do understand can live in the community room.’ Logan raised an eyebrow. ‘Have you noticed that you don’t sleep or anything? Having minds that continually fight inside Rogue is possibly part of the reason that her powers are so out of control.’ Hope tapped her finger on her chin. ‘Why was it so out of control in the beginning?’ Hope paused and looked up. ‘Rogue your powers when they activated what were you feeling?’ Hope spun around waiting for her to answer.
‘Well I was nervous about kissing a boy, maybe a little scared.’ Hope nodded.
‘I am guessing that every time that you used your powers you were scared.’ Rogue nodded softly Hope smiled. ‘Fear is apart of your trigger.’
‘How can I not be afraid?’ Hope placed a finger on her chin tapping it.
‘Some food for thought.’ Hope spoke deep in thought.
———— Cabin ————
The wind whipped around pushing and pulling the companions as they walked across an open tundra. Neither had a destination in mind just deeper into the memories of Ororo. Ororo was not bothered by the cold and she could use her mutation to make the weather stop but she had a feeling that if she did that it would awaken the divide.
“How much further do you think it is?” Logan spoke directly in her ear because the wind howled all around them. Ororo shook her head in answer. “Your powers?” Again she shook her head pushing forward with Logan beside her. For how long they walked in the harsh wind Ororo wasn’t sure but at some point something began to appear ahead of them. As they closed in on it it appeared to be a building of some kind. Ororo could not see anything but she pushed open the door and fell inside with Logan close behind. Logan twisted at the last second so that he took the brunt of the fall. Ororo smiled at him and started to pull away. Logan held her tight for a moment kissing her softly before he let her go. Ororo pulled away pulling Logan up with her.
“Where are we?” Logan looked around the room it looked like the cabin they were in now.
“A cabin it appears.” Logan looked around and realized that this is where it started. Even though Scarlet Witch had changed her history this is the point of unravel. The room was empty but something shined underneath the door that they actually resided in.
“Could it really be that easy?” Logan walked towards the door and reached out a hand, the power slammed against him throwing him across the room.
“I am the true weather witch and I will not allow you to destroy the truth!” Logan turned in time to see Ororo but there were two of them the one that hit him was dressed as Storm. Instead of white eyes they were black a sign of the lies.
“I AM ORORO MUNROE!” The woman he had walked with stood her eyes flashed white and she stepped forward to face herself. The fake witch laughed and it echoed sinisterly in the room.
“Even if you were to beat me those web of lies will not come undone.” Logan stood slowly and while she was distracted he made his way to the door as he slipped inside he was faced with Magneto standing over the tangled not of lies. Lies that appeared as a giant string of knots.
“Hello Wolverine. How does it fair with the weather witches? Are you just as confused?” Wolverine stepped around him unsure of whether he could actually control him here in Ororo’s mind.
“No not at all. The Scarlet Witch only affected Ororo.” Magneto smiled softly and waved a hand but it did nothing. Eyes widened as Logan jumped at him once they landed on the floor Logan smiled. “Your powers won’t work here.” Magneto faded leaving Logan alone with the web of lies. Logan sat back and looked at the web of lies, standing he brushed himself off.
Pulling one thread then another, pulling out broken strand here and broken strand there. The outer layers were a dull blue but the inner ones were a mixture of bright blue splashed with white. Logan smiled softly, “A beautiful natural chaos that is what she is.” As soon as he saw this he started pulling away the dull leaving behind a beautiful weave of bright blue and white.
Logan stepped back to admire what he had done darkness descended all around him.
Ororo slowly opened her eyes to see the ceiling of the cabin. Ororo lifted her hand to her head, a splitting headache surged as she sat up. When she did something rolled off the bed with a thunk it hit the floor but it did not roll as she expected. Glancing over the edge she saw Logan, Ororo shook her head softly and tried not to think. A shower would help, Ororo stood slowly walking to the bathroom. As she waited for the water to heat she tried to review the last couple of days in her mind but it was all foggy. Ororo sighed and turned back to the shower carefully she stepped in allowing the water to wash away her concerns. Why was she here at the cabin? Why was Logan laying on the floor? What was the orb? Where they alone? Why was the last couple of days a fog… wait… since Magneto. Ororo stopped thinking every thought brought more pain. Something was blocking those thoughts and for now she let it stray. Emotions had to be in check every moment. Freedom of emotion was not something she allowed herself. Ororo emerged from the shower carefully wrapping a towel around herself. It allowed her to take note of herself there were many bruises on her body, which clearly meant that she had been in a battle. That was not unusual but what was strange was the way her body felt, stiff. The only time it was stiff was when she did not have the chance to move. So not only was the last week or so foggy she had also spent more time laying in bed then she realized. A soft knock disturbed her thoughts.
“Ororo?” His gravely voice was gentle as if he was afraid to disturb her.
“I am alright Logan.” Ororo shifted something did not feel the same. “I will be right out.” His footsteps receded. There were no clothes in here so Ororo stepped out in the room but it was empty, there were some clothes on the bed for her jeans and a t-shirt. As she began to dress she heard his voice again.
“I was hungry so I made some food your welcome to it when your ready.” Logan opened the door, Ororo’s back was turned but she was trying to lift the shirt over her. The bruising made it more difficult then she thought it would. Logan stepped forward and helped her with it then wrapped his arms around her waist. Ororo sighed leaning back into his arms and he took a deep breath in of her smell. “You came back to me.”
“What?” Ororo turned around to face him watching his face.
“Nothing. We can speak of it later.” Ororo gave him that look that said he was going nowhere until he told her. “What is the last memory that is clear?” Ororo closed her eyes and thought for a moment, the memory came easy enough.
“The day I went to rescue you from Magneto.” Logan nodded at her words. “I arrived and…” The fog rippled across her memory. “Nothing.” Logan took her hand and sat her down. Logan spent a few moments collecting his thoughts.
“Magneto had paid Scarlet Witch to alter and change your history so that you were indebted to him. When he found that we shared a connection,” Logan breathed deep unsure how to word what Scarlet had done. “Magneto wanted it stronger in hopes that I would follow you.” Ororo’s eyes widened but she didn’t feel any different. Logan looked away for a moment and shifted. “I am not sure if all of Scarlet’s meddling is gone or not.” Ororo smiled softly and raised a hand to his cheek.
“Logan I had feelings for you long before that moment and if she strengthened them I do not believe that, that in any way would have been a lie.” Logan looked back at Ororo to see her face bright and wonderful, he was floored at how much she could actually surprise him.
“Ororo,” She smiled waiting to see what he would say and he almost squirmed beneath her gaze. “I…” Logan took a deep breath and before he could speak Ororo pressed her mouth to his.
“I love you as well.” Ororo spoke the words after their lips parted. Logan smiled and descended on her lips again capturing them in a longing kiss. God how he missed her, this version, this perfect goddess.
“Don’t ever leave me again.” Ororo pulled back looking him in the eyes.
“I never left you Logan, I am on your side.” A deep smile spread across his face and he lifted her up pulling her flush against his body. Again he kissed her but this time it was slower and more intense dragging out only parting when they both needed to breath. “As much as I would enjoy more I feel that I need that sustenance you mentioned earlier.” Logan nodded and released her but grasped her hand leading her out into the main room where the table had a few different foods. Ororo did not often eat meat of any kind finding it affront to nature so she opted for the dish of fruits and veggies.
“Are you sure that is going to be enough for you?” Logan raised an eyebrow, he was ravenous but he had trouble remembering the last time she ate. Ororo glanced at him and then took two of the sandwiches. After both had some of their food Ororo spoke softly.
“Do you think my memories will return?” Logan paused for a moment allowing the memories of the last week to replay in his mind.
“Eventually but until they do it might be a good idea to stay here.” Ororo shook her head taking another bite of food.
“No the school, the students, I need to be there.” Ororo spoke and Logan shook his head.
“No its all taken care of.” Logan said. Ororo carefully stood and walked around the table.
“What do you mean?” Logan sighed and ran a hand over his face.
“Ro, seriously, breathe.” Ororo gave him that look again and he sighed. “Hank and Karma are watching over the school and the students until you return. There are no threats to worry about. The only thing you have to worry about,” Logan stood placing his hands on her shoulders. “Is you. Finding your way back through the tangled mess that Scarlet left.” Ororo sighed she felt like herself but her memories, finally Ororo nodded.
“Although I am not sure how being out here will help any.” Ororo’s words made Logan smile and he pulled her in for a kiss, wrapping his arms around her. When she pulled back a smile appeared on her face. “On second thought I could get used to this.” Ororo wrapped her arms around his neck her fingers combing through his hair. A wicked smile spread across Logan’s face as he descended on her lips once again.
Ororo lost herself in his kisses as his hands traveled down her body to her hips pulling her closer lifting her up. Wrapping her legs around him he moved without breaking the kiss. How he circumvented the table and made it to the room without stopping or hitting anything didn’t matter. All that mattered were his kisses and the feeling that rose in her. How much she missed him without realizing it. How much she desired him.
As he kissed her more deeply it felt as if her skin was on fire. He trailed kisses down her throat gently nibbling here and there, then sucking softly. A moan slipped past her lips and she arched her back, Logan laid her on the bed. Logan watched her for a moment before moving her hair and kissing the other side of her neck. Another moan slipped past her lips and she closed her eyes. Logan shifted himself pulling away from Ororo to pull his shirt off. Ororo opened her eyes and smiled leaning forward she ran her fingers over his bare chest the strength that lay beneath her fingertips made the fire under her skin burn even hotter. Laying a hand on his chest she looked up at him, he had been watching her closely barely holding onto control. The animal in him hungered for more but Logan wanted to savor everything about this. Ororo could see the hunger in his eyes so she pulled off her shirt tossing it across the room. As she reached for her bra his fingers stopped her taking over the actions. Leaning over her it gave Ororo the perfect opening to kiss his neck.
As soon as she began her ministrations a growl rumbled in his chest. With the offending article of clothing removed he pushed her down on the bed. As beautiful as he thought she was before it was nothing compared to this moment.
“Something wrong?” Ororo laid there still allowing him all the time he needed to admire her.
“Nothing.” Logan slowly lowered himself to her body caressing it with his lips using each moment to enhance her pleasure. The moan that echoed from her lips only increased in volume as he continued his attention to one breast then to the other. Ororo arched her back pushing up into him. A growl flitted through his chest, Logan struggled with control but won as he worked his way down to her navel. Ororo squirmed as his whiskers tickled her but the laugh transformed into a groan of pleasure. Expert fingers pulled off the jeans and underwear that she wore. Logan leaned back drinking in the beauty that was the goddess before him.
Ororo opened her eyes as the air caressed over her body, Logan was just staring at her eyes wide. A small grin blossomed over her face when she realized that he was struck by her beauty and a giggle erupted from her. Logan glanced at her he had never heard such a beautiful and tantalizing sound.
“I believe that is a first.” Logan closed the distance between them with a kiss.
“What is?” Ororo spoke and her voice still held the tinge of a giggle and Logan reveled in the sound.
“To hear you giggle.” Ororo stared at him as he spoke. “I think I finally see that you keep your emotions in check because you have to. But this side of you I have never seen.” Ororo only nodded at his words the smile slowly slipped from her mouth and she glanced at the window suddenly wondering if her emotions were affecting the weather. “No.” Ororo was startled and looked back at Logan.
“What?” Logan ran his fingers over her body from her cheek over her neck down her chest and rested on her hip.
“I am not having you distracted you are mine right now.” The word mine was said with a thick growl as his hand moved lower to her thigh and then slipped to the inside.
“Logan I…” Whatever she intended to say was lost in a groan that grew to a moan as his fingers found a soft wet mound. This time it was Logan’s turn to smile as Ororo began to arch her back in the pleasure he brought to her. What Logan failed to realize was although he was giving her powerful passion he was also driving her crazy. Ororo wanted more needed more, so she did the only thing that she could do. Swiftly she pushed him away and jumped on him. Which surprised him causing him to fall back barely staying atop the bed.
“What…” She cut him off with a kiss as her skillful hands soon relieved him of both jeans and boxers. Ororo didn’t take a moment to observe him but instead explored his chest with her light kisses, then traveled down lower until she reached his pulsing head. Ororo breathed on it gently causing a shiver to travel up his spin. Ororo knew that the control that Logan had was flimsy at best and any moment he could throw her back down on the bed. Ororo kissed the top one, two three times than slipped her tongue out over it before slowly sucking. Logan’s body shuttered beneath her fingertips, she felt and heard his quick intake of breath. Inwardly she was smiling for once she had the upperhand where he was concerned. As she continued her attention the growling from him only increased in volume. The moment would arrive soon when he would not be able to hold himself back so Ororo began to speed up and then the growl turned into a rumble. Suddenly she was on her back in the center of the bed and he was atop her looking down at her. The change in his eyes were clear she had driven him to the edge and well past it because what looked back at her was not Logan it was the Wolverine.
A wicked smile rested on her lips and he captured them quickly when he pulled back she was breathless. The need and desire in that kiss told her so much.
“Don’t stop on my account.” A low growl echoed up his chest and he lowered himself onto of her, a moment later she felt him. Ororo was wet and warm so when he entered her there was no resistance only delicious pleasure. The gasp that left her lips was stopped by his furious kisses. Before the love had been slow and sensual but now it was filled with need and desire. Desire so strong that Ororo could only hold on. Hold on as her nails dug into him, she thought she could not feel any deeper but that was blown away as his kisses on her neck drew another moan from her. As her end came closer her moans became louder and when the end finally came for her, her scream of his name was drowned out by the sound of thunder echoing all over the area.
Once the ripples stopped traveling through her body Logan laid down next to her. Logan’s eyes traveled over her. It was the first time ever that his animal and himself were on the same page. The first time other then when he had killed that he switched between so fluidly. Ororo rolled slightly so that she could face him.
“Interesting.” Ororo words were accompanied by a smile.
“Indeed.” Logan spoke and pulled her closer to him breathing deep of her smell. “You smell like the rain on a mid summers night.” Ororo laughed and kissed him softly.
“How is that possible?” Ororo’s words were soft, Logan shrugged and kissed her again. “I noticed that…” Ororo struggled with her words for a moment. “With your mutation, its almost like you have a split personality isn’t it?” Logan kissed her again thinking over her words.
“In a way. It’s the most primal need.” Logan said.
“So you need me?” Ororo joked but Logan nodded softly. Ororo stopped laughing and ran her fingers over his shoulders. “In what way exactly?” Ororo kissed his shoulder and then his cheek. “Do you need me here?” Ororo kissed his lips. “Or here?” Ororo kissed his forehead. “How about here?” Logan growled and pushed her back on the bed. “Is this how you need me?” Logan captured her lips in an urgent kiss.
“In every way.” The words were growled out between kisses. Ororo began to leave dark red marks with her nails on his back. A deep rumble echoed in the room as he gathered both her hands in one of his and held them above her head. Just as quickly as the beast had left it had returned. “Mine.” Teeth grazed her collarbone and a shiver traveled over her entire body. It wasn’t a question but when he pulled back and the beast looked at her urgently needing something from her she did the only thing that seemed appropriate. Ororo leaned forward and bit his shoulder harder then she intended for Logan still held her wrists. The response she received was him releasing her wrists and wrapping his arms around her waist.
“Always.” Words may have been whispered but he heard them all to well and in response he bit her shoulder. Realization dawned on her that this interaction might have significant meaning. Ororo pulled back and looked into Logan’s eyes wondering what she would find.
Logan pulled back from her, the beast had slipped forward so suddenly that he had no chance to stop the exchange, no that was a lie he had hesitated and in that moment the beast jumped.
“Ororo.” His voice was soft which she could never remember it being.
“Yes, my love?” Those words surprised him at that moment like she knew exactly what had happened it made him stumble.
“I… Do you…” Logan sighed and began to pull back before Ororo rested a hand on his shoulder stopping him. Eyes met and his breath caught. “You understand?” Ororo’s hand moved to his cheek and the look in her eyes was something he never even entertained the idea of seeing.
“Not at first,” Ororo kissed his lips softly but he didn’t kiss back so she continued. “Its not hard to see the change, when Wolverine slips out.” Logan grunted at her words but listened. “I have never thought of you as two separate entities. Seeing you slip back and forth I can see now more then ever that you have warred with yourself for a long time.” Ororo ran her fingers through his hair down the back of his head and rested both hands on his neck. “I am also going to assume that for the first time in a very long time you both desire the same thing.” Again Logan grunted, she saw the look in his eyes and laughed. “No I did not know what it meant at first but I did what felt right and I do not regret it.” Ororo did not break eye contact so that both the man and the beast could see that she meant it. “Wolves mate for life right?” Logan’s eyes narrowed at her thin joke. “Too soon?” Logan pulled her closer and for the first time she saw them both together as one when he kissed her.
