Captain Marvel: True Potential
By: SpaceSamurai
Chapter One (MC, no sex, FD)
Carol Danvers. That was her name. She knew it now. Even if pieces of her past were forever gone. Even if her life had been altered, fragmented into the time before the accident and the time after, with crumbling holes in the former and lies and manipulation in the latter, she could at least be sure of her true name: Carol Danvers.
And right now, Carol Danvers was in trouble.
She’d been captured by Yon-Rogg and the other Kree warriors she’d once called her comrades on a ship over Earth, along with her best friend Maria, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury, and a handful of Skrull refugees, led by Talos. Carol couldn’t suppress the welling shame of her past actions towards the Skrulls. She’d been conned, tricked into hunting them down and slaughtering them like animals, like terrorists, all because the Kree’s Supreme Intelligence told her this was the right thing to do.
But when she’d finally come to understand what the right thing to do really was, she’d been caught, trapped, and held by the very people who’d poisoned her brain and her blood and made her a killing machine.
Yon-Rogg gave her a smug smirk. “Are you mad at me, Vers?” he said. “Don’t worry. I promise I can make it up to you.”
If her hands weren’t bound behind her back, and if the chip in her neck weren’t suffocating her powers, she’d have crushed him where he stood, blasted him into pieces that would serve as a message to all Kree that she was not their puppet anymore. As it was, she could only bide her time and hope for an opportunity to break free.
Yon-Rogg waved to Korath, his fellow Kree soldier, and together they marched Carol down a dim corridor to the Communications Center. This was an old Kree ship, stolen years ago by a Kree woman and taken into orbit above Earth. Carol knew her as Dr. Wendy Lawson, her mentor and friend, the woman who’d harnessed her alien technology to create an engine capable of light-speed travel. It was that engine she’d been killed trying to protect. It was that engine whose power now coursed through Carol’s body. If she could just get free from their hold over her and destroy the chip they’d planted in her neck, she could unleash her full potential, and destroy the Kree war machine and bring peace to the last remaining Skrulls in the galaxy.
But first, she knew, she’d have to face the Supreme Intelligence. The AI leader of the Kree. This ship was a bit outdated, but it was still Kree technology, and it would still be able to connect to their homeworld and its robotic commander.
Yon-Rogg shoved Carol over the floor port, and Korath pushed her down to her knees. With a press of a button, Yon-Rogg brought the machinery of the device to life.
All at once, a dozen thin tendrils slithered over Carol’s body, connecting at her strongest nerve centers before finally settling two wires against her temples.
And just like that, Carol was back in the swirling, unnatural world of the Supreme Intelligence. The walls shimmered and the floors shifted, and Carol got the distinct sensation of being neither firmly on the ground nor floating through space. She was here, and she wasn’t. And before she could settle her inner ear and steady herself, the Supreme Intelligence appeared before her.
“Well, look at you,” the older woman chirped cheerfully. “Seems like you got some of your old self back!”
The woman Carol saw was Dr. Lawson, the woman she most admired. And now she knew why: Dr. Lawson, whose Kree name was Mar-Vell, had sacrificed her home, her people, her life to stop the war between the Kree and the Skrulls, and to save what Skrulls remained by finding them a new homeworld far from the Kree’s reach. She’d taken Carol under her wing and trained her to fly her new ship. If it weren’t for Dr. Lawson, Carol would never have gained her powers. She would have never lost her memory. She would have never become a soldier for the Kree. Despite this, she respected Dr. Lawson and was grateful for her guidance.
This, of course, was not the real Dr. Lawson. The figure before her now was a projection of the Supreme Intelligence, shaped to make Carol feel safe and deferential. Unfortunately for the Supreme Intelligence, all her appearance did was piss Carol off.
“I like the jacket,” the fake Dr. Lawson said. She appeared before Carol in the clothing her old memories had dredged up: A black jacket with the Pegasus logo, tight khakis, and sneakers. “It’s a nice touch.”
“I’m not coming back,” Carol said.
“Vers,” the Supreme Intelligence sighed. “I know what you’re thinking. The Skrulls have warped your understanding of the truth and made you turn on your own kind.”
“You’re not my kind,” she snapped. “You stole me from my home. Erased my memories. Put Kree blood in my veins. Made me a killer.”
“We gave you a home. Your memories were broken in the accident, your personality needed to be put back together piece by piece. We did that. We gave you a new life where your gifts could be put to good use: Keeping the galaxy safe and free from terrorism.”
“You’re the terrorists! The Skrulls wanted freedom, and you destroyed their homeworld, and now you’re hunting them down. You made me a murderer of innocent people who just wanted a life away from your grip.”
“Is that what they told you?” The Supreme Intelligence shook her head and walked slowly to Carol’s side. “It’s actually quite impressive what they were able to do with that machine they hooked you up to. They brought back your memories, yes, but they planted seeds of doubt too. They left their lies worming through your brain until you couldn’t see the truth anymore.”
“No,” Carol said, backing away from the image of her mentor. “I see the truth better than I ever did under your control. You’re the one who fed me lies and stole my life from me.”
Carol expected anger and balled her fists in preparation. But to her surprise, the Supreme Intelligence didn’t look angry. She looked concerned.
“Oh dear,” she said. “This is more serious than I thought. We’re going to have to break through their hold on you.”
A surge of heat swelled through Carol’s body, a rush from the bottoms of her feet all the way up to her eyes. The feeling was painful and tight, like a hot wrap enveloping her skin. She tried to move, but every flex of her muscles made the heat reach deeper, burn harder against her limbs. She strained as best she could, but the pain was overwhelming.
“What…what are you….doing…?” Carol managed through strained teeth.
The Supreme Intelligence nodded calmly and reached out a hand to Carol’s arm. Despite the hot grip on her body, the older woman’s touch seemed to alleviate the pain, at least where her fingers met Carol’s shoulder. “I know this is hard. Just stay strong, the pain will pass.”
The walls pulsed with a flash of red, and the wave of heat rolled over Carol’s body again. She tried to summon her photon blast, but with a passive shake of the Supreme Intelligence’s head, the glow in her hands went away.
“Sorry, Vers,” she said. “I can’t let you use your powers while we work through this. I promise, I’ll let you use them again when all this is over.”
“When-ah!” The strain of talking made her mouth burn. “What…what is overrrr?”
“We’re rooting out the thoughts the Skrulls planted in your head. The only way is to burn away everything that’s happened since they captured you.”
“Noooo!” Carol screamed, and despite the immense pain, she threw a desperate punch at the Supreme Intelligence’s face.
Unfortunately, in this virtual space, she had no real power. The Supreme Intelligence caught her fist and calmly, almost lovingly, guided it back to Carol’s side.
“I know. I’m sorry. I wish there were an easier way. But to free you from the Skrulls’ influence, you’re going to have to forget everything they told you.”
Forget. Carol was terrified. If she forgot everything after she was captured by the Skrulls, that meant she would lose everything since she returned to Earth. Her old life would be gone again, her friends, her family, her people. She had to find a way to break out of this.
Back in the real world, Yon-Rogg and Korath were watching Carol closely. The young woman was shaking, her muscles twitching.
“She’s trying to fight,” Yon-Rogg mused. “Impressive.”
“Foolish,” Korath said. “Especially since we found the source of her power. There’s nothing she can do.”
It was all Carol could do not to cry as she felt a boiling heat across her body.
Another pulse had gone through her, and this time she could sense something slipping away. The cat. Her cat. Or was it? What was its name again? She needed to hold on. If she could remember the cat’s name, she might be able to-
Another surge.
What had she just been thinking about? She shot an angry glare at the Supreme Intelligence. She needed to get out of this before it was too late.
To Carol’s surprise, the Supreme Intelligence’s eyes were closed. She was vibrating with increasing frequency. For a moment, her figure blinked out of the room, and then blinked right back. The room went dark. Pitch dark. And the pain went away.
Carol couldn’t afford to worry about what had happened. She had to wake up. She called her powers to her hands. The glow of her fists were the only illumination, revealing…nothing. She was alone in a pitch-black void. She concentrated on her body, her real body, back on the ship. ‘Let me out,’ she thought. ‘Let me out, now!’
She closed her eyes and concentrated, tried to shoot out the energy of her powers. She felt something fall away from her body. She saw light through her eyelids. ‘I’m free!’ she thought.
She opened her eyes. She saw walls of light, swirling colors extending endlessly. She saw a long table. And leaning on that long table, she saw the Supreme Intelligence.
“Let me out of here!” Carol screamed in rage, and fired a photon blast at her captor.
But the Supreme Intelligence batted the shot away like a fly, and with a snap of her fingers, the chip on Carol’s neck came back to life, and her hands stopped glowing.
Carol made a rush at the older woman, fists tight, but something was off, something in the air, on her body. Was she….naked?
The confusion was momentary, but it was enough to throw off her rhythm, and when she reached the Supreme Intelligence, she received a dismissive backhand slap to the face that knocked her to the floor, dazed.
“Enough of that, Vers,” the Supreme Intelligence said. “Sorry I had to go for a moment. Something really important was taxing my attention. But it was worth it. Because after a thorough analysis using all of my processing power, I finally unlocked the secrets to this.”
Carol looked up, and her eyes grew wide.
The Supreme Intelligence held a glowing blue cube in her hand. The Tesseract. The source of the power for Dr. Lawson’s engine. The source of Carol’s powers. They’d found it on the ship, and now it was in the hands of her enemy.
“No,” Carol said shakily. “That’s not real. You’re not real. You’re just-”
But before she could continue, the Supreme Intelligence had her hand on Carol’s throat, and lifted her into the air.
“Does this feel real?” she said.
Carol couldn’t breathe, and though she flailed with all her might to break free, she was trapped. She tried telling herself this wasn’t happening, but her vision was getting blurry. Even if it was all virtual, she knew she could die here. Just as she was fearing she would pass out, the older woman dropped her to the ground.
Deep, shuddering breaths shook her naked body.
“I’ve got good news for you, Vers. Thanks to this, I no longer have to burn away your memories. You can keep it all, everything you’ve learned. I can even restore your old life, intact, just the way it was before your accident. I can put everything back.”
Carol tried not to let hope fill her heart, but she couldn’t keep it at bay completely. The idea of having her memories back was a dream come true. But she knew it couldn’t be that simple.
“This cube, this Tesseract. It’s a fascinating artifact. It contains power far greater than anyone has ever known before. And somehow, your body has absorbed its energy, converted it into your strength, your speed, your photon blasts.” The Supreme Intelligence stalked Carol’s prone body, as though she were a beast studying her prey. “But it’s capable of so much more. You see, the power of the Tesseract, and the stone it contains…it has invaded your biology down to a cellular level. In effect, this little cube is you, Vers. And by controlling it, well…On your knees.”
Carol started to rise, her strength returned. She wanted to leap to her feet and begin her fight anew. But partway up, she stopped. She could rise no further than her knees. No amount of pulling or straining would move her legs in any way. The cube pulsed, and suddenly, Carol stopped even trying to change positions. She wanted to kneel. Yes, this is what she’d been told to do. But she’d wanted to do it anyway. But why?
Another pulse of blue light. Why didn’t matter, she decided. All that mattered was that it was true.
The Supreme Intelligence grinned.
“Terran physiology isn’t so complex, you know. Your species hasn’t evolved much past your animal ancestors. Even with the blood of the Kree in your veins, your body and mind are simple, and, with this much control over your cells, malleable.”
The light pulsed again. Carol wasn’t sure what to make of it. If what the Supreme Intelligence was saying were true, she’d be experiencing some sort of changes. But so far, everything seemed normal. The older woman gestured for Carol to look down at herself. What she saw made her blood run cold.
Blue. Her skin had turned blue, blue like the Accusers.
“What-” she started, but the light pulsed again at the edges of her vision, and before her eyes, her body began to change. She could see less and less of her lower half as her breasts began to balloon outwards, first hanging low, straining heavy against her skin, but then becoming lighter, firmer, then growing again, further, further, skin seeming to grow with them, her very flesh multiplying outwards. She started to hyperventilate, fear battering her heart.
“Stop!” she cried. “Please, stop!”
Another pulse of light. She blinked. When she looked again, her body was at its normal proportions, her skin its normal hue.
Carol shot what she hoped was a hateful look at the Supreme Intelligence, though despite herself, her eyes revealed her terror.
“Now now,” the image of Dr. Lawson chided. “Enough of that face.”
Carol felt her grim visage shift into a wide, toothy, joyful grin.
“Much better.”
Still smiling, Carol managed to speak, though her voice sounded lighter and airier, more relaxed and jovial. “This isn’t real, haha! You’re in my head, you’re just projecting this to scare me. When I disconnect from you, you’ll have no power over me.”
Dr. Lawson leaned back on her oak table. The Tesseract pulsed again.
Carol knew what she had to do. Her right arm flew up, and she slapped herself, hard, right across the face. Just as she’d planned.
“Why did you do that?” the Supreme Intelligence asked.
Before responding, Carol swung with her left hand, hitting herself with a force strong enough to tenderize her jaw.
“Because I want to,” she said defiantly, still smiling sweetly.
“But doesn’t it hurt you and do absolutely nothing to me?” Dr. Lawson said with a bemused look on her face.
“Yes,” Carol said, then returned to hitting herself with her right hand.
“So there’s no logical reason to be hitting yourself. How do you explain that?”
Carol’s next slap was enough to draw blood from her gums. “I…I don’t know. I just…I know I need to do it.”
The light light pulsed. And as Carol wound up for another strike, she realized what she was doing, and how much pain she was in, and screamed in her mind for her hands to stop. But she struck herself again, just as hard.
“I’ll ask again,” the Supreme Intelligence said. “Why are you doing that?”
Carol was panting, though her reddened face still wore a grin. “I don’t want to! I don’t understand.”
“Yes you do, Vers! You know why, just say it!”
“I….My name is-”
“Why are you hitting yourself? Say. It.”
Carol smacked herself again. Blood began to trickle down the corners of her smiling plump lips. “Because….I can’t, please, I can’t!”
The cube pulsed, and Carol’s hands swung around, pointed at her face. Her hands started to glow. She was about to shoot herself in the face with her own photon blast.
“Say it!”
“Because you’re controlling me!” Carol sobbed at last. She felt her limbs relax. Her hands lowered. With another pulse, her bleeding stopped, the damage repaired, though the pain in her cheeks remained.
The Supreme Intelligence stepped forth and towered over her kneeling subject. All the trouble of taking her, rebuilding her, training her, losing her, and finding her again, it was all worth it. Carol didn’t know what the A.I. standing above her knew: Carol was the strongest being in the known galaxy. With the power of an Infinity Stone coursing through her, she was unstoppable, capable of changing the balance of power in the universe.
And now, she belonged, mind, body, and soul, to the will of the Kree.
It was a pity there was only one of her.
Like lightning, an idea came to the Supreme Intelligence. A grand idea. Something…marvelous.
“You’re going to make me an army,” she said. “A race of supreme beings at my command. You will help me wipe out my enemies for all time. The whole galaxy will bend to my will.”
Carol shuddered at the thought. Nothing could have disgusted her more than the thought of being weaponized for this genocidal computer.
“I can’t,” she said. “If what you say is true, I’m the only one who can contain this power. It lives and dies with me.”
The older woman shook her head. “No no no. Maybe that was true before. But now that I control your biology, I can access your genetic code. And if your genes are passed on…do you understand what I’m saying?”
Carol’s eyes grew wide. “You want to…breed me?”
Laughing, the Supreme Intelligence bent low and grabbed a handful of Carol’s breast. Carol gasped. Even though this was all in her head, it felt real. Unbeknownst to her, the tendrils of wires connected to her physical form on the ship began to snake their way inside her suit, up to her most sensitive areas. She was being stimulated within and without.
“That will be your primary function, yes. But let’s think a bit more outside the box. What breeds and spreads faster than a person?”
“A rabbit?” Carol was still smiling, so it was hard to make the quip snarky instead of stupid.
“A virus.”
The image of Dr. Lawson knelt next to her prize, and her hands traveled lower, past Carol’s navel, straight to her sex. Carol moaned involuntarily. It had been so long since she’d been touched there. She’d forgotten what it felt like. Outside, the wires began penetrating, deep past her rapidly moistening opening, into her womb, spreading to her ovaries. In her mind, the Tesseract pulsed.
“What….what are you doing to me?” Carol managed to say.
“I’m infecting you, Vers.” Her fingers spread Carol’s lower lips with one hand and drove further in with the other. “You Terran females have such specific ways of spreading yourselves, both literally and figuratively. You drip with lubrication, you emit pheromones to draw others in, and while you receive seed to fertilize your eggs, you do not excrete them, but store them in your uterus, or you waste them in a monthly cycle. I’m going to remake your womanhood, Vers. I’m going to make you the perfect host, both for the children of my new army, and for the infection of my will to those creatures already living without the joy of servitude to my rule.”
“My- oh! – my name…My name is Carol!” she cried.
“Carol, Vers, whatever you call yourself in the world outside, it doesn’t matter, because in here, in your mind, as your truest self, you name will forever be Slave!”
In this unreality, the Supreme Intelligence could move her hands along Carol’s sex with inhuman speed and precision, finding every nerve ending, manipulating every quivering muscle fiber, bringing Carol to orgasm after orgasm in her mind.
Meanwhile, the wires in her pussy, now imbued with the Supreme Intelligence’s control of the Tesseract, were molding her organs, expanding her womb to hold as many offspring at once as possible, repurposing her ovaries to release many eggs at once during sex, both to be fertilized and to inject into their lovers’ bodies, a token of her genetic code which would self-multiply within a new host and take over their minds with the need to spread the virus further, and, of course, to obey their new Kree overlords. Her love tunnel was reshaped and, in a way, reprogrammed. Now, no matter how much abuse her holes took, she would always stimulate her partners in the exact shape they needed, conforming perfectly to whatever sexual organs they pushed inside her.
Carol couldn’t mentally process any of this. Her mind had gone blank, not because of the control of the Tesseract, but because of the pleasure overwhelming her senses. She screamed out in absolute bliss, grunting and moaning, drooling, beyond words, beyond conscious thought. She was losing herself in sexual agony that seemed endless.
In the real world, Yon-Rogg and Korath eyed their former comrade quizzically. Her body was convulsing. She was making odd, guttural noises. She was sweating profusely. And it looked as if something was going on inside her suit.
“Is she trying to fight?” Korath mused.
“I don’t think so,” Yon-Rogg replied. “This…I’ve never seen this before. This seems like something else.”
He reached out slowly with one hand and touched Carol’s cheek. On pure instinct, her head jerked in his direction, her mouth latched onto his fingers. Yon-Rogg was going to pull back, fearing she was going to bite of his hand, but before he could, she inhaled, sealing his digits in her lips, and began…suckling. Licking. Moaning.
It was almost like…
Back in her mind, Carol was sucking the empty air. Seeing this, the Supreme Intelligence pulled one hand free and jammed it into the young woman’s mouth. Carol could taste herself, the thick sweet nectar of her sex positively pouring from the older woman’s fingers.
And then, all at once, it was done. Carol, still kneeling, blacked out. The last thing she saw was the Supreme Intelligence holding aloft the Tesseract. It pulsed blue. Then, darkness.
