Uuugh! She was tired. Without bothering to remove her clothes Darcy Lewis fell into her bed. Six credit hours and 16 weeks from home was not worth this torture. Sure the apartment above their research lab was a bajillion times better than the dorm room she'd been squashed into for the first two years of college. Sure she had more freedom here and a lot less papers to write. But it was anything but perfect.

This whole shenanigan had seemed like a great idea at the time. Get a state between herself, her parents, and her looser ex boyfriend. Get paid to hang out in some kitschy little one stop light New Mexico town, chillax with a nifty-neato science smart chick, AND get college credits? What wasn't there to love? Oh right...everything else.

That internship study-in-the-states application hadn't said jack about meeting Norse Gods or getting involved in some inter-dimensional family feud. Nor had it anyone expected her boss to go totally love-crazy and work 15 hour days to find some crazy science way to reconnect with that super cut hottie named Thor. Not that Darcy could really blame Jane for wanting to see Mr. Sexy pants again. That man had been Fine with a capital 'F'. Darcy totally understood why her boss had gone gaga over Thor. And yeah, Jane was awesome enough that she could see why Thor would want her back. But where was all the Darcy love?

Why didn't he have a hot brother or something?

That would have been great. Two exiled brothers. One for Jane, one for Darcy. Win/win situation if there ever was one. And Darcy wouldn't have let him get away with a kiss. Hell no! After a rescue and a near death experience that man deserved a tumble that left him sweaty and smiling.

Mmmmm....

It had been way too long since Darcy had a chance to be sweaty and smiling. Her last boyfriend had been cut too. Big brawny football player type. No brains to speak of but boy-howdy the idiot had been amazing in bed. Half the campus got to know just how good he was...which was why Darcy was no longer bedding him. Or anyone who wasn't battery operated for that matter.

With a sigh Darcy kicked off her shoes and tossed her over-shirt on the floor. Left in just a pair of jeans and a stripped tank top she headed into the bathroom to begin her nightly bedtime ritual.

Her fingers flicked on the light illuminating the small space filled with sponge-bob and the little mermaid bathroom paraphernalia. The shower was quick, more to rinse off the smell of New Mexico dust than anything else. She wrapped herself in a Princess Ariel towel and smudged the mist off the dinky bathroom mirror.

Why hadn't Thor looked at her? She wondered as she dolloped toothpaste on her sponge-bob toothbrush. She was pretty. She was smarter than the average bear. Alright, so she studied political science rather than, you know, science-science and she tended to joke when everyone else was being serious. But she was built! She had the curves where it counted. And she was fun. She liked to laugh. She wasn't a nag. Was it the glasses?

Darcy shoved the toothbrush in her mouth and glared at the mirror. Maybe it was the glasses. She couldn't have contacts. Oh she had tried, lord had she tried. Didn't work out so good. Her eyes puffed up like red marshmallows every time she tried no matter how hypoallergenic the brand claimed to be. She just couldn't do it. Maybe it was the hips. Some guys liked the super waify-slim hipped type, like Jane. That was cool. Everyone was allowed to like what they wanted, that's what freedom meant right? So...why couldn't some hot super god like swanky hips?

Maybe his imaginary brother liked swanky hips.

She spit out the toothpaste bits and dragged a brush through her dark hair.

Wait, according to that book Dr. Selvig had Thor DID have a brother. Or kind of a brother, half brother or step brother or something. What was his name? Likey? Lore? Loki. Yeah, that was it. Loki. God of Mischief.

She could totally use a little mischief right now.

He had to be hot too, right? Genetics like that just can't be cruel enough to let one be tall blond and beautiful and the other be...well...not.

Right?

What if he had come to earth with his brother? Would he have looked at her? She gave a glance in the mirror and smirked. Oh yeah, he totally would. She was hot stuff! She turned around and shimmied her hips. “Take that Loki! You know you want it. God of mischief my ass.”

“Really now?”
