That was a really nice scene, just the naturalness of it. Them falling into it and then Jean taking the lead from the less experienced Emma.
One advantage of telepathy, you can kiss and communicate at the same time.
I love that Emma gets her first orgasm here so... easily from Jean if that's the right word, and it's sad that Jean's issue are preventing reciprocation even though Emma is so willing to.
Great chapter as usual for both the characterisation and the spice. :D
Oof. Well that was a chapter of two parts,or maybe not. I was thinking the first flashback was nice sharing the soccer feelings and Emma appreciating it but even that is tinged with sadness that it was her last game ever before everyone turned on her. Yay, classic x-men bigotry. Good use of Evo Jean's canon background. I was intriqued by this line: "Jean finds the joke distasteful, and now Emma does too." showing how influenced by Jean, Emma is.
The second set, oh how terrible :( Very sad and of course realistic as it's based on your real experience. The aftermath of it, with Jean apologising for ruining the date and Emma comforting her as best she can is a very nice one. Nice growth for Emma even in a very sad scene.
It's also interesting that Emma is not Jean's first experience with same sex attraction which is cool.
Oh, this was an interesting chapter. Also interesting that it went a different way than you intended, writing takes on a life of its own sometimes.
The dynamic between them is so good, I think it's a good time they are crushing on each other because you can tell otherwise they'd be annoying each other, lol. With Jean constantly trying to challenge Emma on Shaw and Emma, there's the fish out of water aspect but also, she's kind of an upper class snob about it all which could grate.
You handle them charmingly though with them clearly liking each other and already devloping a very easy attitude with injokes between them.
Still Jean pretty much hits the nail on the head in the end and is starting to really get Emma's issues and family problems. Also that Emma doesn't full trust her and won't ask but wants the competition is really interesting. There's a stark contrast between Jean's easy relationship and trust of the other X-men (and its very sweet they are constantly in her thoughts) and what she has with Emma.
Oh nice chapter. Shaw behaves himself, mostly, but there's still the constant air of tension and mistrust that he *might* act up at any moment. The call from Leland who clearly does expect something perverted from what little we hear, really works to grow the tension.
And the texts with Jean are cute as well.
Hmm, the Latveria account? Avengers: Doomsday crossover confirmed! (J/k) Emma Frost will return.
Ahhh this is so gooodd
Ooh that is a rough one. You've once again really well emphasised just how broken poor Emma is in a way where even a small set back sets her spiralling.
That a chess defeat triggers her so badly in relation to her father's emotional abuse is very sad and even worse when it leads to then rejecting having a relationship with Jean. Her stereotyped idea of lesbians must be also feels very accurate to both her upbringing and the early 2000s setting.
It's ironic that Scott is inadvertantly messing with Jean's new relationship! (I'm not sure how it could happen but it would be nice if they met and realised who they were)
Nice writing! I look forward to another chapter and the palatte cleanser as well.
Ooh, lovely. That's a big change that they've finally got the feelings out in the open. It's interesting it comes after a fight and reconcilliation and Emma proving she really does care. Very nice.
I was also interested in the early bits. While obviously Emma's overboard in calling it a cult. It is a very big ask for a first date for lack of a better term to whisk your friend off to a new location and introduce them to all your friends at once with an extended stay. (How long is spring break anyway? A week).
And Emma, lol, "I don't want to go to your place and get brainwashed", -five seconds later-,"I better brainwash this guy to stop him saying girlfriend" oh dear, girl. Surprised Jean wasn't a bit more critical of this but hey they were making up.
Also poor Emma when her body issues come up even right after a good smooching.
Nice one DS! Looking forward to more.
Oh lovely chapter. Definitely good of Jean to give the outside perspective on Emma's dad and Shaw, and makes sense Emma would be defensive as well. It's interesting that Jean obviously assumes that Emma sees it that way too and has to change gears to try and convince her.
Interesting to have Xavier mentally pop in for a cameo, in a sense. The speed of him checking in here, well it is understand Emma finds it creepy! I wonder how much Jean has said to him.
Emma's diamond powers always confused me as it seems so out of left field, and apparently it's because Grant Morrison wanted Colossus on the team but he was too recently dead to use. lol. Good use of them here.
And that ending! Lovely and they are getting more clues, I think this chapter also contains our first hints that Jean is also feeling attracted romantically/physically. Nice work!
